Asheville’s luxury home real estate is still moving up.

Asheville had fourteen homes sell in the $400,000-$499,999 range in the month of January (only 6 closed in this price range the previous month).

We also had three homes sell that were priced over a $1,000,000. There wasn't much difference in the number of days on the market. The over a million group had an average days on the market at 203 and the $400,000 to $499,999 had an average days on market at 195.

It is interesting to know they were so close.

 I read recently that a team of UNC, Chapel Hill students won a $50,000 prize in an urban design competition. As a luxury home specialist, it was interesting to see that the winner focused on a design that would accommodate the diverse needs of families of all sizes and ages.
 Here in Asheville, a number of “high-end neighborhoods”  incorporate many critical family-friendly elements, such as community space, connectivity, public arts, and job incubation …all of which were included in the winning proposal. Here are a few
