collin: Why buy now? Affordable homes, Bonds, Grants, VA programs - 08/18/10 09:32 AM
I took an affordable housing class in Dallas this morning towards the designation and "Holy cow" my head is overloaded with all of the ways to do this. There are  so many ways out there that we could be helping folks buy a home! Need to get the word to the masses. Bond programs, Grants, low low interest loans. There will never, not in my lifetime, anyway be a better time to buy a home.
If you are a Veteran do you know that there are programs for you not only at a Federal level but at a State of Texas and sometimes … (2 comments)

collin: Code RED for Plano, TX and Collin County - 08/24/09 03:27 AM
Sometimes it pays to listen to the recorded messages that sometimes come to your phones. I happen to be home this morning on the first day of school-I thought that would be the most important thing that happened today but, perhaps not. I learned by listening today that our town has an emergency dialing program and they were verifying it this morning.
If you happen to live in Plano, TX or Collin county and didn't get a phone message today about the Code RED program you can get your number or any other numbers on the list by going to the website:

collin: Living in Texas has it's own surprises. - 01/06/08 08:27 AM
I have to admit, when I first moved back to Texas I wasn't as familiar with the Flora and Fauna as I might have been. I'm not sure that most people think to study the animals in the environment that they may be moving into. I have lived in many different places in my life and found that it may be a good thing to consider the "other" neighbors:
Arizona: Rattlesnakes, Gila Monsters, Scorpions, Daddy longlegs spiders, Lots of butterflies in the Spring! Ilinois: Rabbits, lots of rabbits! Cardinals South Florida: Incredible birds, wild parrots, hummingbirds at certain times of the year, Alligators … (4 comments)

collin: Open Houses to do or not to do? - 10/19/07 09:40 AM
I spoke about this earlier today and as I was on my realtown blogs I saw a note from a Gentleman in Michigan who suggest 15 minute open houses and I kind of like that idea. From what I can tell they gather the buyers at one starting point and give them flags to identify that they are a part of the ones touring that day. The sellers do offer food or snacks 50% do he said and the they tour like the REALTORS do. In and out in less than 15 minutes. The agents don't leave that quickly because the … (3 comments)

collin: What is your rent really costing? - 10/19/07 07:04 AM
I have a wonderful friend who is now looking for a job in Title work, she is a closer, if you know of anyone who is hiring I'd like to give them her information. She is the one who shared the idea for this chart with me and I love to use it with tenants who are still confused about their choices. Does it help you?
Collin County Texas tenants should be considering homeownership while the housing prices are low and the interest rates are still good. … (0 comments)

collin: Short Sale Seller to Do list - 10/09/07 07:07 AM
HelpRHome:  If you have discussed the four best choices with the lender or had a friend do it and they have agreed to let you take steps to avoid Foreclosure; it is time to take some serious steps to achieve the sale. Remember to call your tax advisor and ask them at least two questions: What impact do I have if I sell the property for less than my mortgage? and what impact do I have if I sell the property for more than my mortgage? What do you advise me to do about it?
This is plain old real estate advice … (1 comments)
