Are you breaking the law in Washington State-  CO alarm requirements?

January 1, 2011, state law required CO alarms to be installed in all new single family homes and residences, including apartments, condominiums, hotels, and motels.
                                         
The state law requires CO alarms be installed in existing apartments, condominiums, hotels, motels and single- family residences by January 1, 2013.

In Washington State Carbon Monoxide (CO) detectors were required in all new construction effective January 1, 2011. But did you know that they will be required in all existing buildings by January 1, 2013. They should be placed outside of each sleeping area.
                                                 
The state also requires that any homes sold after July 26, 2009 the seller is required to install a CO Alarm before the home can be legally occupied.
