More good news for our Prairie Village home neighbors as to the National Real Estate front.  Case Schiller, Standard and Poor's house price indices for the United States, released an analysis of home price trends.  U.S. Housing Prices are stabilizing. 




While local real estate news is most important in determining the value of Prairie Village homes, it is also important to be constantly aware of what our national real estate market is experiencing. This will ultimately affect our local markets and our great Prairie Village KS home market.

There is a new report out by Realtor.com that indicates that the inventory for homes for sale is down by over 20% as compared to last year. Please note that the operative work is "inventory".
In my opinion, this may serve well for Sellers going ahead. Why? Because if there is less inventory for a buyer to choose from, this could lead to increase in demand for a particular home and/or location. Of course, demand heavily relies upon factors remaining favorable for buyers which includes appealing interest rates.

The Kansas City Regional Association of Realtors and Heartland Multiple Listing Service have just provided the September 2011 Metro Kansas City Housing Report. New home sales show an increase from one year ago while existing home sales reflect a decrease from one month ago.
The average sales price for both new and existing home sales in Johnson County Kansas showing an decrease as compared to a year ago. This is reflected in the September 2011 Metro Kansas City Market Stats Charts.
