It's that time of year again. A day of feasting better known as Thanksgiving. At least that's how I view it. A day of not feeling so guilty about eating "all day". The next day may be a great day to get out and walk it off and enjoy some beautiful surroundings. The Luminary Walk at the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens starts the day following Thanksgiving. Are you a runner? Looking for a fun event to attend during the Thanksgiving season? Either way, the 15th annual Gobbler Grind Marathon is happening on Sunday November 20th. The Gobbler Grind is a Half Marathon and 5k. I understand that it attracts runners not only from the Overland Park area but from across the country. the event starts in Corporate Woods in Overland Park. So get out an enjoy the holiday season with a marathon run before stuffing yourself on Thanksgiving. :)

I admit it has been a number of years since I have attended the New Theatre Restaurant, but maybe it's time to go back. Things to Do in Overland Park-Heartland Habitat Restore I just learned about a new store that opened near Downtown Overland Park on January 15th. Heartland Habitat Restore is located at 87th and Farley. What I think is neat about this new store in Overland Park is that it offers discounted new and used furniture, appliances and other building supplies while helping those less fortunate. From what I understand, Heartland Habitate Restore takes some of the proceeds from its sales to help build affordable housing for those in need. Great idea.
