The Snow has provided a Great Opportunity to evaluate your home! Northern Virginia got socked with 8-12 inches of snow last night. I hope all of you reading this got home safe and sound last night (and without too much of a delay). Right now begins the big dig-out, but it also provides a great opportunity to see how well sealed your home is. A well-sealed house will not release as much warm air as a house with less insulation and sealing. I have Solar Panel envy.I remember back in the 70s when Solar Panels first started popping up in Reston, VA. The community was fairly liberal at the time, so I expect that there were a fair number of political statements being made with this early technology. There was, in fact, an entire neighborhood was built in the 80's,Solaridge , that incorporated solar technology. Even in a community that embraced the idea of recycling and energy conservation, the Solar Panel did not catch on in any sort of definitive way.
