metro area: Should I Go To The Inauguration? - 01/16/09 08:16 AM
It is a really strange time to live in Reston, VA. Usually, one of the things that we love about Reston, and Northern Virginia in general, is the proximity to Washington D.C. without the city traffic. We enjoy going to the theater, to events, to museums, going to see the National Christmas Tree, and using the train station.
So here we are just outside the city...and usually we can get down there pretty easily.   However, next week during the inauguration, we might as well be living in Chicago.  You see, all of the bridges from Virginia will be closed to car … (1 comments)

metro area: Is there a Post-Election 'Bump' in the Washington, D.C. Metro Area? - 11/06/08 01:45 AM
There is a an Urban Legend, perpetuated by the local press, that the day after a new President is elected real estate agents around the Washington D.C. metro are immediately called in to action helping the incoming and outgoing political players buy and sell real estate.
 

I am curious if any of you have seen, or experienced in the past, this phenomenon.  It would be interesting to know, too, if people are more likely to rent, or rent out, their properties this time given the current state of the national real estate market.
