The first Metro station in Reston opened this past Saturday, July 26, 2014.  The Wiehle-Reston East Silver Line Metro stop is open and running. Today is the first day that commuters are using Metro to commute from Reston!
I remember when the last big transportation event, the opening of the Dulles Toll Road, came to Reston. That was back in the day when, before the Toll Road opened,  commuters either drove Route 7 or drove to Dulles Airport, did a u-turn and got on the Dulles Access Road.

This is a big year for my family. My second daughter graduated from college and my youngest, a son, will graduate from high school and move on to college.
As a result of these milestones, I am currently going through a lot of 'lasts' (the 'firsts' will come soon enough, I know).

What is your strategy for finding your new home? Do you troll the Sunday Open Houses and hope that you find the house of your dreams? That can be a great way to help you refine your list of wants and needs.
