This is the last official day of summer vacation for Fairfax County Public School Students. Every year, the FCPS system opens the day after Labor Day. If you are from anywhere else in the country--or if your children attend private school--chances are good that they are already back in school. Not here in Virginia! Virginia has a law on the books called, fondly, 'The Kings Dominion Law,' which prevents school systems from opening before Labor Day.
