halifax realtor: Nova Scotia Real Estate Trends and Stats - 01/19/10 04:55 AM
You know it's interesting to read all the different articles that come from basically the same source. (New Real Estate Stats were released last week as I reported on and you can see in my previous posts). However, I think this is the best article. It was from Roger Taylor for the Chronicle Herald.
"At one time, people may have looked at a 30-year-old single-family home requiring some renovations and they were willing to overlook some deficiencies if it meant a lower price. Today, Smardon said, many buyers seem willing to pay a little more if the home needs less renovation."

I say interesting because last year we had one of the biggest Real Estate scares in decades with transactions almost stopping in Jan - Feb. halifax realtor: Interest Rates going up soon? - 01/07/10 01:12 AM
We all know the historically low interest rates will not last forever. This means it is still a very good time to buy a house. Or, for that matter, a great to sell also as there are more buyers. But how long will all this last? Above is a great article from the National Post that goes in depth as to what is going to happen with interest rates in the future... More good numbers for the Canada resale home prices. Click on the thumbnail above to read the full article for Reuters.
Interesting if you read through it though that the numbers for Halifax were down. This seems to be opposite what the last several other articles I have published have stated. Only thing I can think of is that these numbers were from last June and I have been posting more resent information.
