The number of mortgages entering the foreclosure process in June 2012, rose 4 percent to 104,294 compared with a year ago--the second month in a row foreclosure starts were up over the year--according to RealtyTrac report. The month over month statistics look a little better: Foreclosure starts -- notices of default or schedule auctions fell 4 percent in June 2012 when compared to May 2012, 109,051 properties.. The present administration is pondering turning thousands of government owned foreclosures into rental properties to help boost falling home prices. The Federal Housing Finance Agency said Wednesday it is seeking input from investors on how to rent about 250,000 homes owned by government-controlled mortgage companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the Federal Housing Administration.

It is becoming a common theme with some sellers that are facing foreclosure not to care any longer and just let the home go into foreclosure. It seems these sellers are facing obstacles that they think are too insurmountable to handle. It is heart wrenching when you discuss the ramification with a seller that is on the ropes about foreclosure and all they say is that they want out --- they do not care any longer.
