The 10th annual bluegrass festival kicks off 10AM,. Friday and continues through Sunday. the lineup includes such big name bluegrass bands as Blue Highway, Lonesome River Band, Lighthouse, Virtual Stranges and Sweet Tiding Gospel Bank.

The festival will be at the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum, 2040 N. Santa Fe Ave., Vista, California. 18 hole course at Brengle Terrace Park to be installed by San Diego Disc golf club. Brengle Terrace Park received approval from the Vista City Council on a vote of 4-1 last Tuesday. Ryan Meyer, president of the San Diego Aces, said in October that the group would pay the $15,000 to $20,000 to install the course and perform maintenance on it once it's in the ground. The Vista Irrigation District (VID) uses three sources for your drinking water. The First one is local water, which originates from the watershed and well field located near Lake Henshaw in Santa Ysable. VID owns the 43,000 arcre Warner Ranch which encompasses the lake and monitors any activity that could contaminate it. Water from Lake Henshaw is transferred to Lake Wohlford via a canal originally constructed in the the 1890s.

An effort is afoot in Vista, California to keep the pitchy drones of recorders and ping of xylophones alive in Vista elementary schools classrooms. Last October 2010 the Vista Community clinc, in Vista, Ca., opened it new offices on La Tortuga Drive. Now they are annoucing another expansion. The current location of one their facilities on Vale Terrace is being renovated to expand by 31,000 square feet. it will include 24 exam rooms, offices, waiting rooms conference rooms and classrooms. The expansion will create 42 new jobs and be build with $11.4 million in grant funding.
Construction should be completed by December 2011.

Students from the tax program at Mira Costa College are currently undergoing training for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program or VITA.
VITA program sponsored by the IRS, offers free tax help to low to moderate income (generally $48,000 and below) families who cannot prepare their own tax return. Certified volunteers sponsored by various organization receive training to help prepare basic tax returns in communities across the country.

An RV & Boat storage yard in South Vista, which sparked controversy when it was first proposed in 2008 is having its grand opening next week.
The Vista Chamber of commerce is hosting its monthly mixer at North County RV & Boat Storage on the northeast corner of Sycamore Avenue and Melrose Drive. 
The 8.7 acre site has been transformed from a barren lot into 400 space storage lot.

An Escondido based charter school plans to open a satellite campus in Vista, Ca. The Classical Academy has been looking to expand into Vista for the last couple of years. Classical Academy will open a satellite campus in Vista's business park in February 2011. The 12,000 square foot building was recently vacated by another charter school. North County Trade Tech High School which moved to a larger campus.
 
The campus will serve students in kindergarten through 12th grade who now commute to one of the school's two campuses in Escondido or the Coastal Academy in Oceanside,.
