activerome: What Does Activerain Mean To Me? More Than I Can Say.

Please take time to read this entry post by Sharon Tara. Amazing photos and collages, and it is fun trying to figure out who everyone is. Many memories bring up the stages of ActiveRain. So much fun, so many great people, so much talent! We appreciate the amount of time Sharon took to put all the photos together along with names. Thanks for taking my call today. It was fun catching up! ACTIVERAIN It is so much more than just a blogging platform. It is so much more than a real estate platform. Personally, this forum was never just a place for (18 comments)
This month, the ActiveRain challenge is to say in 350 words what this platform means to us. To most serious bloggers, we could fill a book. My blogging began in 2006, posting most days, logging in every day, and speaking with an AR member daily. I thought this challenge would be so easy. I could go back and pick out a bunch of blogs and take the collages from them. But many of the links no longer work, so I thought I would give you a list of what AR has meant and then a few posts to read.
''Does blogging have positive effects on my business?''
Take some time and read about my real estate blogging journey.
Asking a few questions. Does one print ad sell a house? Does one flyer sell a house? Does one For Sale sign sell a house? Does placing the property in the MLS sell it? Does one impromptu open house do the trick? Does one radio show sell a house? Does burying a St. Joseph statue sell a home? Does one nosy neighbor sell a house? Does one blog post sell a listing? Does networking with others sell a house? It's a combination of the above, creativity, experience, consistency, and hard work.
We have a great group of AR members, and this month's challenge is to share our enthusiasm with the masses. From our first Zoom, which started with Marie Story back in May 2020, we have continued to have superb speakers every week! If CE credit were not required, these Zoom meetings would definitely suffice to learn and keep up to date with our industry. So many knowledgeable people are participating every week. Personally, I have missed only one Tuesday Zoom and one I attended while being on a home inspection...mask and all. Why? Because success doesn't come from what you occasionally do but (24 comments)
Blogging since 2006 has pretty much been a daily ritual. Maybe I haven't written a blog every single day, but I have written over four thousand, logged in every day, and most days talked to a member.
Many bloggers are looking for more traffic to their posts or websites. They need to know stats. How many views? How many comments? How many likes? How many short URL clicks?
But I'm always looking for other ways to use, to share, and to repurpose my blog posts:
-Through a link in my email signature. -Send the post's short URL to the client or potential buyer or seller. -Copy the post, (35 comments)
A frequent question: Does blogging help sell houses? Answer: Does one print advertisement sell a house? Does one flyer sell a house? Does one For Sale sign sell a house? Does placing the property in the MLS sell it? Does one impromptu open house do the trick? Does one radio show sell a house? Does burying a St. Joseph statue sell a home? Does one nosy neighbor sell a house? Does one blog post sell a listing? Does networking with others sell a house? I don't think so!
Everything works sometimes. Nothing works all the time!
It's a combination of all the above plus creativity, experience and a lot of hard work.
Here are a few of the positive effects (67 comments)
Let me start by saying this is not going to help me get a new unique listing or find a special buyer for my wonderful exciting properties in Baltimore. It is not going to help with Google juice or SEO. And maybe no one will read this because it is rather frivolous in the scheme of Real Estate. But those members who have been here for awhile may like this bit of trivia.
Just for fun...this question was posted by Nathan Gesner . Who is the "oldest" member of ActiveRain? I am curious which member has been on the Rain the longest. Must still be active today. (20 comments)
Thankful for ActiveRain and the positive effects on my career and my life. Below are just a few...
ActiveRain members got me through the loss of my Lee in 2014. Many buyers and sellers have found me through this platform. Through blogging, I receive instant gratification on a daily basis. Blogging helped me write my book Real Estate The Rome Way. HomeRome Realty was started because of advice received from blogging. My own radio show has been influenced by ActiveRain members. Because of blogging, I speak with an AR member every day. Buyers and sellers follow me and give me ideas to write (6 comments)
Celeste "SALLY" Cheeseman asked "What ActiveRain Means To All Us" This was my response: ActiveRain was influential in writing my book, in going out on my own as a solo broker and for hosting my weekly radio show. I have become friends, networked and met thousands. Sellers and buyers find and follow me on AR. I write about and share my blogs with my clients. . It is the place for me to both learn and share my successful techniques along with my 25 years of experience. I have been doing MeetUps long before we called them MeetUps. And as many of you (23 comments)
