corona virus in real estate: April Contest Professionals Helping Others - 03/31/20 02:21 PM

I am so proud of our industry for being so positive. We are moving forward virtually. Education and real estate do not stop. We adapt.
There are so many ways REALTORS are helping each other, our clients, and the public. We are looking for ways to show the good, the kindness, the compassion, and the concern for public safety.
I thought this would be a perfect contest for April.
Write a post sharing how we are showing the positives of real estate right now, how professionals can help each other, their community, and of course, clients, including buyers and sellers.
Many of you have already written posts that … (181 comments)

corona virus in real estate: Waiver of in person Notary in Maryland. - 03/30/20 01:57 PM

Here is yet another way we can continue to do real estate.

This morning Governor Larry Hogan issued an Executive Order,..." waving the requirement of in-person notarization of documents, thereby authorizing remote notarization of documents during the COVID-19 emergency."   Effective, today,  March 30th, Governor Hogan ordered the in-person requirement for notarizing documents in Maryland, temporarily waived, for the duration of the COVID-19 emergency, subject to guidance provided by Secretary of State John C. corona virus in real estate: A Reassuring Buyer - 03/30/20 07:57 AM
It's usually me, the REALTOR®  reassuring everyone during a transaction.

Here's an example of a buyer stepping up, reaching out to reassure both the seller and me.

Note from my buyer to me:
Hi Margaret. Hope you’re staying in and safe. What a trip this has been! Wanted you to know I sent the following note to (seller) this morning. I’m sure you’ve come to the same conclusions I have, but I thought it was important to put it out there sooner rather than later. Anyway, let’s see how this plays out. But we need to remain flexible. corona virus in real estate: Kindness, Safety And Common Courtesy - 03/25/20 09:32 PM
I am proud of the many hard-working real estate professionals.

The sellers had just moved out, and a cleaning crew scheduled for this afternoon. There was a Sentri-Lock on the front door. My buyer wanted to see … (19 comments)

corona virus in real estate: Who Is At The Settlement Table - 03/19/20 04:10 PM

Some agents chose not to be at their closings. That is not me.

But it looks like these settlements will be without me at the table.

The parties, at closing, are limited to those signing.
The public health guidelines, of course, will be followed,
a precaution to minimize potential Corona exposure.
Real Estate agents, lenders, and family members are not to attend.
To be a part of the actual closing, we will use our phones on speaker.
Buyers and sellers may be separate for signing.

How are settlements being handled … (10 comments)
