Would the 'warm puppy technique' work in real estate? If you've never heard of this, let me explain. Think of the child in the pet store who wants a dog. An astute salesperson would see that the parents are trying to make a decision and suggest they take the puppy home for the weekend.
If it doesn't work out, bring the furbaby back on Monday. We know that in most cases, this is impossible, they have bonded, and they have bought the pooch. We have seen this used with jewelry, art, rugs, and cars. The chances are pretty good that if they (61 comments)
mcne: The Past Decade The Rome Way

Looking back over the last ten years, In some ways, it has flown by in others it has been like pouring frozen molasses.
I had just left the big box company after eighteen years and started an auction company for REALTORS® It was a great idea, a lot of fun, a lot of hard work but in that one year I knew it was just not for me. mcne: How Much Can Go In An Ad
- 06/14/16 12:03 PM
Bob was talking about dead space in advertising and that made me take a look at my own weekly print advertising. There is a lot of information in this ad...and not much dead space.
Notice the advertising above shows homes for sale, homes that are 'Too Late', new listings and an Open House. There is also a section for buyers looking for specific properties. The ad shows my tag line, my email, my website, my book, my latest MCNE designation and my weekly radio show.
My number is in more than a dozen times...making my phone ring and keeping my pipeline full.
Not everyone uses the internet, not (8 comments)

Starting back in January, I took a two day course, then in March another 2 day course and this week of June 2016, I enjoyed the last of the two day courses that has earned me the
Master Certified Negotiation Expert.
I did not do these classes for CE credits. I did them for the fun and the joy of learning how to be a better negotiator for my clients.
The past two days were spent in a wonderful class led by Alan Dalton. So glad I made the time to participate. In more than 2 decades of Real Estate and alphabet soup behind my name, I can say this was the best and most useful course ever. It was fun, practical and the eighteen of us gained a higher level of negotiation skills to better help our clients. Now I have one more designation to add to my long list...
