Mother-In-Law suite? Anyone can live in an "in-law" suite, not just a mother-in-law. Then, why do we call it a MIL suite?
There are many ways to use this extra space, including returning kids, grandkids, college students, visiting guests, blended families, home office suites, workout studios, and yes, suites for parents. This space can provide aging in place with privacy and independence. Perfect (instead of a facility) for supporting family members with assisted living or a separate apartment when it might not be affordable. It's a good plan for the future.
