selling a baltimore county home: One Unique Job Interview - 12/01/21 08:23 AM
A CEO had a unique style of hiring his top employee.  He would do his final interview at an upscale restaurant. And one, he was very well known. Before the entree, he excused himself to make or take a phone call. When the waiter served drinks, he "accidentally" spills a drink directly on the job applicant.  Oh no, the suit was now wet and stained, and he is reacting to this OOPS. The CEO was watching how they responded to this situation.
Was this person, being interviewed, gracious enough to the server who apologized profusely, offered to pay for cleaning, etc.?
Or did … (16 comments)

selling a baltimore county home: You Gotta Love It! - 11/27/21 02:18 PM
One of my questions when hiring someone, whether for business or personal: Do you like what you do? And then listen to the answer.
'I love what I do,' said with enthusiasm, is what I want to hear.
I have tried this when working with a flipper, contractor, agent, attorney, etc.  And there are specific questions. If someone does rehabs on properties, I ask them if they would allow their family members to live in the house. Listen to the answer. In my decades of RE, I have only met one rehabber who said he would never sell a home that was … (16 comments)

selling a baltimore county home: The Best Of The Best Communicate - 10/29/21 11:31 AM
What makes an outstanding professional stand out from the rest?
It's the communication!
Of course, it comes down to researching and choosing the right knowledgeable person, whether it's your Realtor®,  mortgage lender, title company, attorney,  inspector, or various contractors.  The best professionals go a step beyond by staying in touch and giving timely updates about the transaction.
The lender keeps us informed when the application is complete, when they ordered the appraisal, any needed items, and any possible chance of delay or change in closing.
The title company confirms the process of what items are still needed, including but not limited to the pay-off information, … (19 comments)

selling a baltimore county home: Double Duty Blog - 10/25/21 03:32 PM
Those of us who have been blogging for a while may want to reuse those past posts.  Copying one of my previous articles is an excellent way to save time, and it's good publicity.
Not necessary to reinvent the wheel. Are you repurposing any of your blog posts?
After blogging since 2006 that's fifteen years, I have found ways to reuse the content. They can do double or triple duty, so why not repurpose it?
Here is a posting from this past month that I will use in a marketing piece, and this is how it will look.
Using the original blog content on  ALL ABOUT … (18 comments)

selling a baltimore county home: Real Estate Catch 22 - 05/01/21 12:40 PM
Real Estate is a Catch 22.
Many sellers are ready to sell, but there is a shortage of homes on the market that listing a house, to some, doesn't make sense!
Their thinking...if I list my house, and it sells, where do I go?  If I buy a house and have a home to sell, I will lose the new one.
And it is effortless to get caught up in this … (18 comments)

selling a baltimore county home: Taking Advantage Or Being Taken Advantage - 04/10/21 10:21 AM
Are you taking advantage of this market, or is this market taking advantage of you?
Buying and selling are stressful no matter when you contemplate making a move. Jumping into real estate is not something to rush into because “everyone “ says it’s either a buyer's or seller's market. If your home sells immediately for your price, it’s a seller's market. If you are getting outbid on numerous properties, it’s a buyers market.
One buyer asked me if they should buy a home even though they didn’t love it or wait for the right one. What if he made an offer on a … (29 comments)

selling a baltimore county home: Buyers Looking For A Baltimore Home- Are You Selling? - 10/03/16 02:50 AM
My special buyers are looking for a Baltimore County Home. Ideally they would like a minimum of three bedrooms and two full baths.
They enjoy cooking  and want a kitchen that is updated and big enough for both of them.
They are very handy and will need a  garage and a workshop.
Their home needs to have gas heating and, of course, central air conditioning.
A rancher would be ideal with or without a basement.
Not perfect, but a home with a first floor master bedroom suite, could be acceptable.
So I am looking for a single family rancher in Baltimore County on … (2 comments)
