squirrels: They Read and They Call
- 05/22/17 12:16 PM
What do kitty cats, horse races, getting enough sleep, missing a day of blogging and scams have to do with real estate? These were a few of the topics I have written about in the past couple weeks.
Professionals from around the country have commented and I have talked to other members about these subjects. The scam discussion was a topic on my radio show. One of my new sellers is an animal lover and this kind of transparency solidified his choice of using me. Clients, both past and present, have mentioned these articles and two even suggested a name for my friend's kitty. Missing a (19 comments)
Until Phoebe adjusts to us, I am going to show you a few of my outside friends. Using the Tripod suggested by William Johnson, I am able to get some clearer photos. I really like capturing my squirrels and the photos below are better than these greedy little critters! or even these.

squirrels: Flowers and Birds and Squirrels...Oh My!!
- 03/29/11 05:12 PM
I've only had my new toy for a short time...thanks to my friend William Johnson. I have been busy with listing and showing properties....but in between real estate, I have taken a few photos using my new tripod. The pictures are definitely getting better but there is so much room for improvement. My wonderful daughter, Erica, brought gifts today...a baby rose plant and two orchids. What perfect subjects to try my new TrekPod.
I had taken these photos of the birds and squirrel in the past (42 comments)
squirrels: It's All About Teamwork! Whose Team?
- 01/31/11 06:08 AM
It's all about teamwork or is it? Guess it depends on which team you are on. In the beginning the feeders were meant for the the Birds. And slowly the squirrels took over. We tried many different squirrel proof (ha..no such thing) feeders..even coated the wires with Vaseline. Those adorable critters can get around anything. Greed.....When Enough is NOT Enough
I have to admire their tenacity and their teamwork. They take turns on the feeder, do some acrobatics, eat for a while, knock down a lot of seeds, hop off and eat what's on the ground. Quite efficient for (11 comments)
squirrels: Greedy Little Critters! When Enough is Not Enough

Greedy Little Critters! Sometimes we encounter Greed.....When Enough is NOT Enough Why Advertising is For the Birds is a a subject I have written about along with the joys of feeding the birds. In the past week, we have found the lid off the brown metal can where my bird seed supply is stored. I chose metal to keep the unwanted critters and creatures out. At first we blamed each other for not securing the lid...so I started putting the metal watering can on top for additional weight. We must have a large raccoon or so we though until this (16 comments)
Snowbound families. Clogged roads. Icy sidewalks. Cabin fever. They are all part of The Blizzard of 2010 in the Baltimore/Washington area. The snow's not going anywhere soon,...so there will be more stories of kids missing school and state budgets destroyed by the cost of cleanup. But that's not what I will remember when the summer heat and humidity return. I will recall the entertainment in my front yard as the acrobatic squirrels leapt from feeder to feeder, cleaning me out of seeds…again. This is How I Will Remember the Baltimore (18 comments)
squirrels: And My Street is Not Even Plowed! Baltimore is Not Just for the Birds!
- 02/08/10 02:25 PM
When you are snowed in for 3 days and my street is not even plowed, you find things to amuse you. The absolute beauty is overwhelming. Look at the colors of this cardinal. Is this a perfect red, white and blue photo? The reason I have two bird feeders with the same food.. the squirrels don't know these containers are squirrel proof. This little guy certainly does not look underfed. So what does this have to do with real estate? Why Advertising is For the Birds And more beauty right outside my window..icicle sculptures and winter trees. OK so there is a bit of work (25 comments)
squirrels: Gunning for Greed!
- 04/05/09 11:26 AM
There was a lot of reaction to my post about greedand some very greedy squirrels. After reading some of the comments on my post, TLH, Lee took a comment seriously and went out and bought a water gun to help in our attempt at behavior modification and attitude adjustment. It's called "The Equalizer", and with a range of more than 40 feet he can really have fun getting after those greedy critters. Does it work? Well, it is very accurate and immediately effective but only if you actually hit one. Just getting close was not good enough. Tough little critters. Don't know about long term lasting (24 comments)
squirrels: Greed.....When Enough is NOT Enough

Some can call it greed. You can give and give and give and there are those who will still take more. You have to know when and how to be in control. In other words how to put a lid on it.You know I love my mini aviary and the colorful birds it attracts. But we have other visitors that just won't give up. They have managed to get into the bird feeders in spite of the "guaranteed" guards that are supposed to protect against the furry playful rodents. In addition to the plastic shield, which they were able to navigate, Vaseline (65 comments)
