Greater Toronto Area REALTORS® reported 7,998 residential transactions through the TREB MLS® System in August 2015. This result represented a 5.7 % increase compared to 7,568 sales reported in August 2014. On a GTA-wide basis, sales were up for all major home types. The annual growth rate in new listings was greater than the annual growth rate in sales, but active listings at the end of August were still down compared to last year. August 18, 2015 - Greater Toronto Area REALTORS® reported 3,729 home sales through the TREB MLS® System during the first 14 days of August. This result represented an 8% increase compared to 3,453 sales reported for the same period in 2014. For the TREB market area as a whole, sales were up on a year-over-year basis for all major home types. Detached and semi-detached home sales were down in the City of Toronto. Home sales in the GTA increased by 15.7 per cent in the first two weeks of June, compared to the same period in 2014. The Toronto Real Estate Board says that there were 5,661 homes sold through the MLS with the average selling price rising 12 % from a year ago to $650,732. Low rise and condos saw particularly strong price appreciation. TORONTO, September 4, 2014 – Toronto Real Estate Board reported 7,600 sales through the TorontoMLS system in August 2014. This result was up by 2.8 % compared to 7,391 transactions reported in August 2013. Year-to-date sales through the end of August amounted to 65,454, which represented an increase of 6.5 % compared to the same period in 2013.

Despite all the media hoopla associated with October 24th's vote by CREA members to ratify the Competition Consent Agreement, it will be business as usual for real estate professionals across the country. (Note: The members were not individually asked to vote on this, as would have been the case in any unionized organization). CREA representatives took it upon themselves to vote on our behalf. Would the membership have agreed to this if we did have a membership vote?The public will continue to access listings on Realtor.ca, (which are often so out of date), but will not have access to the MLS member system. … (2 comments)
