Zoocasa, the web-based real estate brokerage, has confirmed that it's closing its doors.
In an email sent to its homebuyer and investor clients, and republished by a number of Twitter users, the company has stated that it will cease to be registered and “will be prohibited from trading in real estate as a brokerage” as of June 22, 2015.
This is great news for all Toronto realtors.

A New Sales Record for the Month of May
Toronto Real Estate Board President Paul Etherington announced 11,706 sales reported by Greater Toronto REALTORS® in May 2015. This result was up by 6.3 % in comparison to 11,013 sales reported in May 2014. For the TREB market area as a whole, sales were up for all major housing types. However, in the City of Toronto, where the supply of low-rise listings has been constrained, sales were down for detached homes.

This result was up by 2.8 % compared to 7,391 transactions reported in August 2013. Year-to-date sales through the end of August amounted to 65,454, which represented an increase of 6.5 % compared to the same period in 2013.

Here is the Mid August real estate market report for Toronto, Ontario and Greater Toronto.
TORONTO, Ontario August 16, 2013 –
For first two weeks of August 2013 3359 sales were reported.
This result was a 22% increase compared to 2,743 sales in August 2012.
Sales were up on a year-over-year basis for all home types. Total new listings were up
over the same period, but by a much lesser rate than sales.

The Bank of Canada announced today that it is leaving its key interest rateunchanged, and repeated its commitment to hold the rate steady until thesecond quarter of 2010, conditional upon inflation.
