GTA REALTORS® Release Monthly Resale Housing Market Figures
TORONTO, March 3, 2016 – Toronto Real Estate Board President Mark McLean
announced Greater Toronto Area REALTORS® reported a record number of home sales
through TREB’s MLS® System in February 2016. There were 7,621 transactions reported
this past February – up 21.1 per cent compared to February 2015.
The number of new listings entered into TREB’s MLS® System was also up on a year over-year
basis, but by a lesser 8.2 per cent. The fact that the annual rate of sales growth
outstripped the annual rate of new listings growth shows a tightening of market conditions
compared to last year.

Toronto Real Estate Board for Greater Toronto REALTORS® reported 6,519 residential transactions through the TorontoMLS system in November 2014. This result was up by 2.6 per cent compared to 6,354 sales reported in November 2013. Through the first 11 months of 2014, total sales amounted to 88,462 - up 6.6 per cent compared to the same period in 2013.
 
 While the trend of year-over-year sales growth continued, the supply of listings remained constrained, with active listings at the end of November down in comparison to last year.

Greater Toronto Area REALTORS® reported 3,690 sales through the TorontoMLS system in December 2012 – down from 4,585 sales in December 2011.
Total sales for 2012 amounted to 85,731 – down from 89,096 transactions in 2011.
