homes for heroes foundation: Imitation is the best form of flattery, until………. - 06/03/09 08:08 AM
Until your good name is besmirched. Homes for Heroes in the past has taken people leveraging our brand as flattery. We often ask if they would like to continue to use our good name by joining forces with us, and if they do not want to we are okay with that decision also. But recently something came up that does need to be addressed. We will let the Morris Daily Herald explain it.

homes for heroes foundation: Ninja's on the loose - 01/29/09 09:32 AM
I think we have ninjas in our office. Homes for Heroes is a small office and we all know each other pretty well. So it is hard for me to believe that one of them is a ninja. But I have no other explanation. This morning I arrive at my desk and turn on my computer. I get up and mosey on over to the the new kitchen and pour my self a cup of coffee. The kitchen is only 4 feet away and in complete view of my desk. When I return to my desk, I set down my mug … (1 comments)

homes for heroes foundation: How to save space for more clutter.....For those difficult sellers! - 01/21/09 09:08 AM
As you know Homes for Heroes is a Real Estate program so many of its affiliates are realtor’s. One of the many skills they must possess is an eye for space. When most people feel it is time to sell their home they do not think of all the years of clutter they have accumulated. Why would they? They are comfortable enough living there so why would it bother anyone else? The answer is in the question. They are not everyone else. As hard as it is to believe this, people are different and have different tastes. Think of your distant … (1 comments)

homes for heroes foundation: Facebook warning and Slippery Roads - 01/20/09 01:20 AM
WARNING all face book users! The virus called Koobface is the latest in an attempt to get your private data through face book. This article explains it in more detail, but the biggest thing to look out for is someone sending you a video, then you are asked to download a version of Flash Player. That download harbors the pill popping virus aimed at making your life more miserable than it needs to be. I have always maintained that it should be a capital crime for those putting software on your computer that you do not agree to. (malware and adware) … (4 comments)

homes for heroes foundation: Schmobal Florming? - 01/19/09 01:21 AM
Global Warming, Schmobal Florming!! At the Homes for Heroes office the whole past week it has been below zero Set a record here for the coldest days in December and January.  I kind of liked the idea of our planet warming up. Why do we have to stop it? Us up here in Land of the Lakes would be able to extend the fishing season, increased growing season etc. So at time of posting it got back up to a balmy 19! Yay, I finally get to put on shorts! Here are some videos of how cold it can get here. … (2 comments)

homes for heroes foundation: Car keys are illegal? Warm cars not allowed. - 01/17/09 03:14 AM
When ever I deal with government I always learn something.  Whether updating license tabs or renewing my drivers license  I come away with another tidbit of information that I did not have before and usually regretting that I did not that information before hand.  Things like, if you start your car in the city of Minneapolis and let it idle for more than 3 minutes it is a $400 fine.  Yes you got it right.  If it is 20 below zero and your car is parked out on the street and you go out and start it to let the engine … (0 comments)

homes for heroes foundation: 400 Lbs., Tetris and Flame outs! - 01/16/09 07:21 AM
The big news of the day is the successful water ditching by US Air pilot Chesley B. Sullenberger. To think he dead sticked (no power) that plane in so perfectly as to not even break off a wing is truly amazing. My hats off to his skill, demeanor and cast iron B**ls. The aircraft was an Airbus A320. What is the significance of that you ask? It is a fly by wire aircraft, meaning that there is no cables connecting the pilots control stick to control surfaces. On older aircraft when you pulled the joy stick to go up you would … (2 comments)

homes for heroes foundation: My wife will love me, how to cure the common cold. - 01/16/09 05:28 AM
Sorry for being gone so long.  A whole week.  More stories for the blog.  But I am back. Homes for Heroes decided I needed to take a lesson on word reduction.  They noticed the more I blogged the longer the articles got.  If I did not stop I would be at small paperback level in another month or so.  So I will try and keep the motto of WUA (Word Users Anonymous) in the back of my mind between our meetings.  “Brevity is the soul of wit.”  I know I just made that story up, but it is something I am … (1 comments)
