Real estate agents who are surviving in this market can be described with many different adjectives.  Resilient is one that comes to mind immediately.  To endure the effects of this ever changing real estate market, active agents need to be strong, tough and very pliable.
How pliable have you learned to become?  It is learning process, and those who pay attention and adjust to the changing times will be resistant to every stage of the market that takes a dip.  There are many more dips coming.

Does it seem that agents are working less as the market continues to decline?  Are agents becoming lethargic and losing interest in meeting the new challenges that we are facing?  This declining market has a reputation of separating the pseudo successful from the agent who works relentlessly to maintain a certain level of production.  A declining market separates the two. 
In a post previously written by Fernando Herboso, he quoted Warren Buffett by stating that "when the tide goes out, those who are swimming naked are fully exposed."  This was such an appropriate quote, and I'll never forget it.  … (47 comments)

Competitiveness is a very healthy attribute and a necessary element with all sales positions.  When business is booming, competition takes a back seat, and everyone has a relaxed demeanor.  When business begins to tighten, and attitudes change, the genuine "you" surfaces.  Agents become more secretive about their business; there is less sharing of information, and the atmosphere in the office suddenly takes on a new feeling. 
I've noticed that agents aren't as willing to help each other, when competition becomes more severe and business starts thinning out.  As business dilutes, emotions intensify.  This atmosphere occurs when agents are gasping for air … (6 comments)
