Lions Club July 2013 summer dinner: July and August 2013 Lions club members meeting was held at Losey’s Landing in Science Hill Kentucky. Somerset Lions club had a pot luck dinner. Every Lion produced a favored food to make a grand summer Lions dinner. Fancy deserts were plentiful as well as Texas style ribs cooked with a French sauce. All together the dinner event was a great Lions club dinner and day of fellowship. Those attending the August meeting included: Bill and Audrey Stroud, Roy and Maxine Hicks, Betty Cook, Ken Jacques, and Host Cherry, Phil, and Phil Losey “JR”. Lions Club is dedicated to saving vision and eye care. We meet the first Tuesday of every month usually at Ruby Tuesday. Our next meeting is September 3rd at 6:30 PM at Ruby Tuesday. HOME TOWNE REALTY & AUCTION Home Towne Realty & Auction is rewired and energized for the next five months of 2013! We are moving forward on several fronts. The market is getting better and sales are picking up. We have changed our format and went back to being an independent company. We have a great many bargains still available in the form of Bank owned (REO) homes. We have a great many natural bargains in the form of large, new homes with basements. And, we, also, have many good lots for sale. All in all, it is an exciting time! Let’s take the first front—the market. I have read that in many parts of the country, the market is booming. While not quite a boom here yet, we started out the year selling four times as much property as we did last year. Yes, we are still selling bargains, and a lot of bank owned property. And, the signs are encouraging. Buyers are looking and they are buying at an ever-increasing rate. Our new format is once again being a strong, independent, real estate company. We’ re passing on to our agents and customers the savings in this area. Bargains are still the name of the current game and we have a lot of them—starting with our new home listings.
