care: Proper Watering Techniques - 05/06/08 02:57 PM
Proper watering techniques guarantee the heath and beauty of your lawn and plants. It's important to water your plants deeply. The appearance of your plants reflects how much moisture they have. Yellow, drooping leaves indicate over-watering, while grayish leaves and wilting indicate under-watering. If you can leave a footprint on the grass, it is also an indication of under-watering.
Look at your lawn and plants carefully before watering them to gauge the right amount of water they need. It's best to water early in the morning before 10 a.m. because evaporation is less during these hours. Evaporation is also less during … (2 comments)

care: Lawn Fertilization - 04/26/08 05:27 PM
When applying fertilizer you want to be very careful as it does contain some dangerous chemicals that can irritate and sometimes even burn your skin (I have heard of possible links to cancers and stuff too so yeah you want to be really careful). I always wear pants and closed toe shoes or boots (yes even in the good summer heat). If you can breath when you wear a mask I suggest wearing one of those as well (to cut down breathing in all the fumes and chemicals). Also when you are done I suggest taking a good shower to … (2 comments)

care: The importance of lawn care and landscaping when selling a home - 04/22/08 05:15 PM
You might be wondering what is so important about the lawn and landscaping being properly cared for and maintained? Simple it is the first thing about a home a perspective buyer will see. It can make or break even getting someone to step foot inside the home let alone make a respectable offer. Like the old saying goes "The First impression is the most Important impression". If the outside of the home is uncared for the interior of the home is percieved to be that same way regardless of what it actually looks like. Many home buyers will not even look at … (2 comments)

care: Fertilization, how to, when, and my opinion on liquid fertilizers - 04/17/08 04:45 AM
Ok, first I will give you my opinion on liquid fertilizers. Simply put I don't care for them all that much. While some companies do a great job with it, I have seen more that do not. I have even seen lawns that have been ruined and even gotten disease from "professional" liquid all we do is fertilize companies (some even with rather big names that I will not include). My problem lies with the fact that it is dilluted with water, often probably to much water. Like I said some times it can be great, unfortunately here in MI I have … (2 comments)
