After reading Sherilyn Cervantes' excellent Blog titled "How to respond to 'I Heard the Market's Terrible' Comments", I couldn't help myself and had to expand on what I am seeing right now. I cannot speak for everyone, but from my experience and being on the marketing side of Real Estate, it seems that the ones who have changed their tactics and the way that they do business are the ones who are moving to the top. It pains me that many say that the market will come back, because from my point of view... "from the outside looking in"... the market (6 comments)

As a Marketing CEO that is about to go national with my company, this may be an ill-advised story to put out there... but... I didn't earn any success through holding back my thoughts. (They can chastise me later) So here it is... Saving a Dollar can be a disease! Darnit! Of course there are allot of things that can help every business in the way that they can improve sales and referrals. However in today's www-dot-world, its becoming more and more like businesses have forgotten how to get the community to refer sales to them. It always befuddles me (4 comments)

All too often, I get calls from Sellers asking me to shoot their home for their Agent because the pictures don't make their listing stand out. It's important that you either hire a professional to shoot your listing, or be a professional photographer to Make it look GREAT! Photography is what a buyer will almost always see first about your listing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've never seen a study about photography for real estate that said "Photos aren't necessary" or "Throw some quick snapshots up on the MLS" or "Make sure that you make the listing look bland (11 comments)

I had to write this quick blog after I read another blog about bad Real Estate Photography today. And i just thought that it was important to note: Sales and Marketing Rule #1: " All purchases are based on EMOTION." It is wise to make all of your marketing efforts as an artist would. If your photography is done well, the buyers will barely read your text description and call you for a showing in person.
