binghamton: Historic Home for Sale on Binghamton's West Side - 06/23/10 05:42 AM
This historic Italianate home for sale on Binghamton's West Side has all the charm you would expect in a period home. Dubbed "Snow's Folly" by the neighbors of the original owner, folks thought it funny that someone would build a home so far from the center of Binghamton at the turn of the century! Eventually, the city grew up around the home and the West Side is considered to be the center of Binghamton.
This 4 bedroom, 2 full bath historic Italianate home is in excellent condition and a home inspection report is available to see. Characteristic to the period are … (0 comments)

binghamton: Frank's Italian Pizzeria and Restaurant is a Hidden Gem of the Greater Binghamton Area - 05/10/10 06:31 AM
I thought I knew where every great Italian restaurant was until I found Frank's Pizzeria and Italian Restaurant which is a hidden gem of the Greater Binghamton Area! My husband, the sweetheart that he is, took me out to dinner on Saturday night to celebrate Mothers Day. His sister had recommended a place called "Frank's" in the tiny hamlet of Maine, NY. Well, it seems like everyone knew about Frank's except us! The place was packed and it was reservations only. Fortunately we had called ahead.
When I think Italian food, I usually think Cortese or Little Venice in Binghamton or Consol's … (0 comments)

binghamton: 2 Bedroom, 1.5 Bath Townhouse in Maine-Endwell School District - 02/08/10 08:36 AM
This 2 Bedroom, 1.5 Bath Townhouse in the Maine-Endwell School District is in absolute mint condition and is ready for a new owner. Within the last year the owners have replaced all the appliances with stainless steel appliances. The Corian countertops in the kitchen and the garden window make the kitchen the hub of this home.
The formal dining room flows into the living room making it a great space for entertaining. Gleaming hardwood floors and a gas fireplace complement the room's design. A flat screen TV above the fireplace is an added bonus for the new owner. The price haw just been … (0 comments)

binghamton: Gas Drilling in the Marcellus Shale Deposit-Economic Boom or Ecological Nightmare? - 02/02/10 05:49 AM
I must confess that I attended the "Gas Symposium" hosted by the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce with a fairly closed mind. After all, isn't the integrity of our water supply more important than all those dollar signs that everyone is so excited about?
At least, that was what I was thinking. I can't say that I am 100% convinced because the danger will always exist that an accident can happen. Private wells have already been contaminated in the highly-publicized event in Dimmock, Pennsylvania. My understanding is that Cabot Oil has not taken full responsibility for the damage done … (2 comments)
