I don’t know about you, but I have seen two different people convey the same message with drastically different results. Many times, it involves conveying a company policy or procedure that requires change. In other instances, it may involve coaching a person to change. There are two components which determine whether the communication is effective or whether it creates resentment. The first is the choice of words and the other is the attitude of the person communicating.

Most people say that the biggest problem with their workgroup, their club, or their team is communication.
The only way to improve this is for someone to take the leadership on improving the poor communication. If you are the leader you will need to take responsibility for the communication within your organization. By setting the example you can dramatically affect the communication process.

2. How you say it both verbally and non-verbally

Garbage in garbage out.  Negative in negative out.  You can’t put negative in and expect to get positive out. This universal law applies to business and to life.  If you want positive results from others you will have to communicate positive things. 
If you are leading a team how is it working out?  Do your members care and take personal ownership?  Or is the opposite true?  Do that fail to follow your lead or accept your guidance.

Great communication is a two way process. That means that a message is sent and received. Your words, no matter how well chosen, may fail to get your message out. If your message did not result in increased knowledge or prompt a specific action then your message was not received.
