fear of failure: CONQUER YOUR FEARS - 06/12/22 08:36 PM
Do you like to play it safe? Taking the path of least resistance is a choice many people take. People feel that avoiding risk safe because you won’t lose anything. But doing so may cause you to lose a great opportunity, then you lose your competitive edge or your business. Personal or professional progress only happens outside your comfort zone.
Risk! No Risk no Gain! Even worse, possible loss. There is risk of acting but there is also risk of inaction. Being fearful of acting may be much riskier that taking that action. How many times have you said, I should have, … (26 comments)

fear of failure: OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE - NOW WHAT? - 01/31/21 09:55 PM
Generally, people find it hard to leave their comfort zone. Occasionally, you get forced out of your comfort zone and this is what happened in 2020. However, being forced out does not guarantee success. You could be stuck not knowing what to do next. I found this quite common during March of last year.
We often hear people say that want to research this. Some people research so much that they have paralysis of analysis.
Another way to describe this thought process is what I would call “Getting ready to go to work”. For example, “I still don’t have my resume, my presentation, … (40 comments)

fear of failure: JUST DO IT! - 07/07/19 07:14 PM

Just Do it, the slogan of Nike, reminds us that all the plans in the world mean nothing until we put them into action.  This is particularly true in sales including Real Estate.  The reason incomes vary so much is because some execute their plans and others do not.
The reason that many great plans never get executed is lack of commitment to get started. It is a law of physics. It takes more energy to start a car or turn on a light than to continue operating them. This is also true with starting a project or starting a business. It … (24 comments)

fear of failure: WHAT IS THE COST OF PLAYING IT SAFE? - 12/02/18 03:52 PM

Do you like to play it safe? Taking the path of least resistance is a choice many people take. Taking the safe course of action is risky. That’s right! For example, you may lose an opportunity, your competitive edge or your business. Someone else may replace you while you are in your comfort zone.
This is the takeaway. There is risk of acting but there is also risk of inaction. Being fearful of acting may be much riskier that taking that action. How many times have you said, I should have, I could have, I would have?

fear of failure: HAVE YOU REALLY DECIDED TO GO FOR IT! - 08/26/18 06:03 PM
Why did you decide to get into real estate sales?  I suspect that many of you wanted to have more control over your own destiny.  That is to say that you wanted more out of life.  At the time they made the decision had they should have decided what they would be willing to sacrifice--what risks they were willing to take?
When you have decided to go for it you are will to spend what is required, including money, to have success.  When you take that risk and step out of your comfort zone you begin to see real progress.
Recently, … (53 comments)

fear of failure: WHAT’S HOLDING YOU BACK FROM SUCCEEDING? - 02/09/13 10:05 PM
I was recently contacted by a member of a business organization where I am a member.  I am a new member mentor in this organization.   I had already had a meeting to learn about my new member’s business and goals in joining the organization.  About a month later she contacted me.  She said that she was not quite sure she wanted to come to events because she was confused about explaining which business she was in.  Was she unsure or was something else holding her back?
It turns out that she is holding back until she gets it perfect.  By the … (15 comments)
