Enhance your message in advertising by easily creating videos about your services.  With the power of the internet your target market
is researching their prospective services and products via the internet.  This has transformed the old ways of transacting business from the one-on-one meetings
to hiring someone based on the quality of their "internet presence."  So what better blending of the two business models than to introduce yourself and your
company directly through their prospect's computer screen.

international luxury rentals: South Florida and the Tropics. - 08/19/08 12:34 PM
South Florida was preparing for Fay to visit us this week and we were lucky this time!

http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/gtwo_atl.shtml
As a 3rd generation Floridian I know we have been quite lucky for many, many years dodging so many storms.  Because of so many years of luck we found many residents unprepared and ignored the watches and warnings for the 1992 Hurricane Andrew.  That left many areas of Dade County devastated.  From 1992 until 2004 we went through another lucky period and people fell back into the attitude of "I'll wait until the last minute" to prepare.  2004 and 2005 were two … (0 comments)

An interesting chance meeting in Florida……

I was at a recent business trip to St Petersburg, Florida.  I attended a dinner meeting with a group of clients.  I am a very observant person and noticed a group of three at a nearby table that peaked my interest.  They were dressed in suits, which you don’t see often in South Florida.  The interesting part was that on a Saturday evening at about 7:30pm they were not ordering a meal, but drinking water and having the bread that was initially brought to the table.  Their behavior … (9 comments)

international luxury rentals: How powerful is your picture in advertising - 08/13/08 06:19 AM
THE POWER OF YOUR PICTURE WHEN ADVERTISING

This seems like a very inconsequential topic.  But it may be much more powerful than we initially assume.  In running a real estate brokerage for many years I have experienced many real estate professional's orientation & adjustment periods when starting new in my office.  One topic that has always been controversial was about business cards.  The company paid for the cost for all associate's business cards and I did not include space for their personal photo.  My reasoning was that we specialize in high end rentals in which the company paid all associate costs for marketing, advertising, … (0 comments)

international luxury rentals: What is your niche? - 08/13/08 05:49 AM
What is your target niche?
I just joined this group and I keep looking through everyone's profile to determine what each of you specialize in.  In an age where it is mandatory to stay ahead of your competition we all agree that specialization is the key.
I have specialized in luxury rentals my entire real estate career (since 1985).  All my peers would always comment that they felt sorry for me working rentals because of their negative stereotype.  What do they think is negative about doing a rental?
1)  Not enough money for the work:  I have specialized in short term … (2 comments)

international luxury rentals: Logging into Active Rain should be part of your daily routine - 08/13/08 05:19 AM
Why am I still seeing Real Estate Professionals blogging about poor sales numbers in their areas?  As a member of Active Rain I expect us all to see the importance of staying away from the negative and focusing on how to be more productive.  AR has been such a breath of fresh air for me.  It is a place where I can come to for motivation.  I find myself (like I'm sure you all identify with) looking forward to logging on each morning to start the day.

I recently attending a Housing Symposium held by the Realtor Association of Greater … (5 comments)

international luxury rentals: Virtual is Reality Really! Automation is important. - 08/13/08 02:38 AM

Virtual Reality

Right now so many in our industry are not sitting back and joining those that are focusing on excuses as to why they are not producing at the same level when the market was thriving. There are plenty of Top Producers out there that are putting in a lot of sweat and hardwork to compensate as they see all the opportunities.  It is the quality of their efforts that make the difference, not the quantity of hours put in.

I was raised on a work ethic which said you should work “mega-hard” in order to … (0 comments)

international luxury rentals: The Worldwide Web and how we must continually adapt our business model - 08/13/08 02:14 AM

With so many changes in the real estate industry, it is imperative for professionals “to step out of the box” and adapt their business model in order to continue to be consistent in their earnings.  There are two mindsets occurring in which some say that you have to go back to the basics and work smarter, applying the principles we learned in Real Estate 101.  Others are saying to revise the consumer’s mindset and ways by changing the professional’s approach to the transaction’s structure.

It is a definite that the consumers’ way to search for product has drastically changed … (3 comments)

international luxury rentals: Old School vs New School ways of doing business? - 08/12/08 03:14 AM

After reading a blog regarding someone suggesting that Century 21 change their image to target the Generation X/Y Market,  it got me thinking about how companies are generally conducting business.

How many companies have stood the test of time in the Real Estate Market that still show great name recognition and that have been around for generations?
There is definitely some credibility and credit to a company that still stands for professionalism, ethics, and customer service.

It is refreshing when we can go back to a time where those qualities were so main stream.
That … (2 comments)

international luxury rentals: Pet Friendly Accommodations - Short Term Rentals or Hotels - 08/11/08 12:58 PM

Pet Friendly Travel

My dog is like my child, which so many of you can identify with.  She traveled over 80,000 miles with me last year.  I find it challenging to find travel accommodations that are pet friendly.  It is quite frustrating considering my pet is so humanized and well behaved….more than so many people I know.  She can travel on a 6 hour plane flight and no one knows a dog is on board.  She has been to so many hotels, vacation homes, friends and family homes and has never acted any differently than if she were in … (1 comments)
