We are in an age of cable and satellite television and radio. Reality TV has taken center stage. So many love sitcoms. But others watch hours and hours of the cable television news networks such as CNN, Fox, MSNBC, etc.
I am one of those that find myself in many conversations about someone’s favorite show, which I have never watched. When the others in the group ask me what I do watch on television I embarrassingly respond that I switch back and forth between Fox News and CNN. I find that most people that watch these news shows watch (3 comments)
I was at a recent business trip to St Petersburg, Florida. I attended a dinner meeting with a group of clients. I am a very observant person and noticed a group of three at a nearby table that peaked my interest. They were dressed in suits, which you don’t see often in South Florida. The interesting part was that on a Saturday evening at about 7:30pm they were not ordering a meal, but drinking water and having the bread that was initially brought to the table. Their behavior (9 comments)
This seems like a very inconsequential topic. But it may be much more powerful than we initially assume. In running a real estate brokerage for many years I have experienced many real estate professional's orientation & adjustment periods when starting new in my office. One topic that has always been controversial was about business cards. The company paid for the cost for all associate's business cards and I did not include space for their personal photo. My reasoning was that we specialize in high end rentals in which the company paid all associate costs for marketing, advertising, (0 comments)

Why am I still seeing Real Estate Professionals blogging about poor sales numbers in their areas? As a member of Active Rain I expect us all to see the importance of staying away from the negative and focusing on how to be more productive. AR has been such a breath of fresh air for me. It is a place where I can come to for motivation. I find myself (like I'm sure you all identify with) looking forward to logging on each morning to start the day.

With so many changes in the real estate industry, it is imperative for professionals “to step out of the box” and adapt their business model in order to continue to be consistent in their earnings. There are two mindsets occurring in which some say that you have to go back to the basics and work smarter, applying the principles we learned in Real Estate 101. Others are saying to revise the consumer’s mindset and ways by changing the professional’s approach to the transaction’s structure.
It is a definite that the consumers’ way to search for product has drastically changed (3 comments)
After reading a blog regarding someone suggesting that Century 21 change their image to target the Generation X/Y Market, it got me thinking about how companies are generally conducting business.
How many companies have stood the test of time in the Real Estate Market that still show great name recognition and that have been around for generations? There is definitely some credibility and credit to a company that still stands for professionalism, ethics, and customer service.
It is refreshing when we can go back to a time where those qualities were so main stream. That (2 comments)
My dog is like my child, which so many of you can identify with. She traveled over 80,000 miles with me last year. I find it challenging to find travel accommodations that are pet friendly. It is quite frustrating considering my pet is so humanized and well behaved….more than so many people I know. She can travel on a 6 hour plane flight and no one knows a dog is on board. She has been to so many hotels, vacation homes, friends and family homes and has never acted any differently than if she were in (1 comments)
Other than the Veterans Administration I did not know that "VA" stands for VIRTUAL ASSISTANT. What is a "virtual" assistant to do? I spent years in a fast-paced, stressful office with mega amounts of transactions each week. I could never understand why the workforce in our area was not of the caliber that our company required. It was a revolving door of promises of the "perfect teamplayer" and time and time again there was major disappointment.
I finally decided that I needed to import someone from out of state where the workforce (0 comments)
