business advice: Chasing your competition - a position of weakness

No matter what business you run, chances are you watch for what your competition is doing. You want to know what they charge, how they advertise, what their clients think of them and you want to better them. You believe, not unjustifiably, that if you stop paying attention to the Joneses, they’ll beat you at your game… There is definitely value in knowing and paying attention. That’s how we determine what to charge and what we can do better. But what if we looked at our business as if we had absolutely no competition, only a great product or service that (13 comments)
