Looking at Hoboken in 2012, it is difficult to imagine what it might have been like in colonial times. The city has a very rich history. In the 1600's it was a seasonal campsite for a group of Lenape Indians, who used the serpentine rock found there to carve pipes. In 1609, a man named Henry Hudson was the first European recorded to set foot on the land. Three Lenape Indians eventually sold the land that became known as Hoboken for a combination of shell beads (known as "wampum"), cloth, kettles, blankets, guns and a half a barrel of beer. Hoboken condo sales statistics..Sales prices are up how much? By Eddie Perez, Broker - REALTOR I know most people feel that the Hoboken condo market is down, especially the "buyers" out there. Surprise...prices went up when compared to last year. When compiling the final sales figures for October 2011 using the Hudson County Multiple Listing Service, the central theme I noticed was.....
Fewer condos are selling but they are selling for quite a bit more!

The New Jersey Department of Transportation will be appropriating $4.3 million in funds divided among 12 Hudson County towns. Hoboken is scheduled to receive $400,125.000 for “various roads.” The money will be coming from grants in the Fiscal Year 2011 Municipal Aid program. Hoboken will receive the largest amount of money for Hudson County towns. As a total, the state is giving out 370 grants worth $78.75 million. The goal, according to the state’s release, is to “help municipalities advance street improvement, safety and other projects without burdening local property taxpayers.” The breakdown of the $4.3 million is as follows: Guttenberg – 68th Street – $100,000.00 … (0 comments)
