activerain: The Variations Among Us Realtors - Day 4 of Thanksgiving Posts - 11/20/16 11:52 AM
Today I am thankful for the variations among us as real estate professionals and Realtors.  The above photo was taken by my daughter an avid photographer and shared as part of her Fall Photo Collection.  It spoke to me on several levels, one of which made me think of how diverse people are...  How diverse our real estate group really is.
Active Rain is made up of many, many members as demonstrated by the green carpet base in the photo. Then we have the larger leaves, the humongo leaves, a sprinkling of pine needles a few blades of fine grass and finally the pine … (2 comments)

activerain: Day 4 of Thanksgiving - 11/20/16 11:51 AM
Sometimes (now being one) I wonder, which of the many things to be thankful for to write about.  Should it be business, should it be personal, should it be about the awesome God I serve and who has proven to be so faithful?  Well, Being that I am writing this on Sunday... I'll choose the latter.
I am grateful that my God - Jesus the Christ, my Savior His Father the great I Am, and the Holy Spirit walks with me and is there on good days and bad.

Today I'm thinking of the many things that have changed for the better in our industry since my first experiences with real estate in 1975.  This was the year of our first home purchase with a $250 total investment using VA financing, 1976 was the year I was first licensed as a real estate agent.
Home Warranties - I am so grateful for wonderful home warranty companies. Link for the top 10....When we bought we asked the Seller to include a 1 year home warranty.  Within 30 days the aged dishwasher broke.  The locally owned warranty company made 4 trips out to repeatedly … (4 comments)

Today I want to share how grateful I am for my spouse who has been my love and married partner for nearly 50 years and as high school sweethearts that relationship adds three years to our “history”. Has it always been bliss?  Of course not.  But, we were in love and were always committed to each other.
An essential element to our relationship has been that we have known and loved the Lord our God and prayerfully included Him in decisions and in our daily lives.
It has been during the most challenging times that this “heavenly” relationship has been the glue.

activerain: Thoughts of Thanksgivng #1 - 11/16/16 03:10 PM
In responce to the Active Rain Challenge to post a Thanksgiving post per day until Thanksgiving I have begun...
In a world filled with troubles I am so fortunate, indeed blessed, to live in this small town nestled in the California foothills.  A peaceful and typically quiet but not sleepy city, Auburn was where I grew up after emigrating with my family from Germany.  After high school, marriage and ten years of moving (some with the US Navy) our young family returned to this idyllic area. Changing seasons, real summers, winters, falls and springs as well as family and roots were the … (0 comments)
