pasadena: How Low Can We Go?
- 09/24/11 06:17 PM
Pasadena's housing inventory has hit the lowest point in 2011. And, we are not alone. Wall Street Journal just wrote an article stating that the national housing inventory dropped to the lowest point of the year in August- down 1.9% from July 2011 and 19% from same time last year (data used Realtor.com). Pasadena is definitely following the trend, but our numbers are quite a bit higher. Take a look at the data below: July 2011 - 554 housing units August 2011 - 533 housing units 3.8% drop in inventory from last month for Pasadena's real estate market. Now, let's (10 comments)

Find out every Wednesday evening through September 28 at the Rose Bowl - Parking Lot K.
What is a brick? A combination of two different activities, i.e. biking and running. We ride multiple (flat & hilly) courses followed by a 3-4 mile run. We will mix it up over the summer to keep it fresh. Can I just do the bike or run? Yes. But the eating/social time is mandatory. Are all levels welcome? Yes. There is a wide array of skills and abilities. You will get stronger through the summer. A Pasadena based group of runners, cyclists, swimmers and triathletes (4 comments)

pasadena: Walkable City?
- 07/10/11 01:32 PM
I have always known that one of the most appealing elements of Pasadena is that many of its neighborhoods are extremely walkable. Now, there’s a wonderful website that collects information of cities across the country and has ranked 2,508 neighborhoods based on their “walkability”. Walkscore.com is a website that looks at “walkability” of a particular neighborhood. It helps people find walkable places to live. With gas prices going through the roof and the health benefits of walking, this website calculates the walkability of an address by locating nearby stores, restaurants, schools, parks, etc. Walk Score measures how easy it is to live (0 comments)
pasadena: Sushi Anyone?
- 07/10/11 01:29 PM
I first wrote about Oba Sushi in 2008 a few weeks after they opened on Glenarm in Pasadena. I stopped by to meet Kunche and Alvie, proud owners of Oba, who were so excited about the restaurant, both from the menu and design perspective. Kunche’s goal has been to provide the freshest food with the best dining experience… to create a consumer driven restaurant! I want to please my customers. After being on the floor for so many years, I understand the needs and wants of consumers – says Kunche. Oba Sushi Izakaya has survived and flourished in the last (0 comments)
