Come to Kirtland, Ohio for the the 53rd annual Kirtland Kiwanis Strawberry Festival located at Kirtland High School.  There will be entertainment, daily flea market, craft market, carnival rides, food and games and of course strawberries!  Admission is FREE so come out and enjoy from Thursday June 6 through Sunday June 16th.  
Thursday is community day from 6-11 PM.  Take advantage of reduced ride prices--with coupon.  Think you have what it takes? Join in the stawberry shortcake eating contest.

From the early days of history, people set aside aa day of thanksgiving.  Usually it was for a bountiful harvest. Some days of Thanksgiving were declared for special events such as the safe return of a ship.
The ancients thanked their gods and goddensses.  They offered fruits, vegetables and acakes to the deities of their choice and begged for a good year to come.
Many countries today have a thanksgiving dya of one kind or another.  In Canada, it is combined with a celebration of the dicsovery of America and is held at the time we celebrate Columbus Day.
