northeastern ohio property: Are You Looking Both Ways? - 02/03/13 02:00 AM
"But I had the light!" is probably one of the most common phrases spoken after a car accident.  Green means go for me, red means stop for them.  Before you know it, you're on the phone with your insurance company.
Who doesn't remember an adult reminding them to "look both ways before you cross the street"? It seems like common sense so basic we wouldn't even need to teach it.  But it's funny how that lesson, which seems so obvious, s oftne lost in other areas of our lives.
Take for instance, the raft of real estate market data you hear … (0 comments)

northeastern ohio property: How Do You Protect Your Home's Possessions? - 01/14/13 02:43 AM
How are you protecting your home's possessions?

One place many people are notoriously lax, however, is in keeping a thorough inventory of their home's possessions. Often those who do keep an inventory keep it somewhere in their house. Unfortunately this … (1 comments)

Please define mineral rights?
Minerals-- In Real Estate terms, those minerals of value which may be taken by mining, such as coal, iron, copper, gold, silver, etc  Mineral rights as well as oil rights, may be sold or leased separately from the land itself. The ownership of the minerals (coal, gold, iron, etc.) under the ground with or without ownership of the surface of the land is known as mineral rights.  Mineral rights don't always transfer with the sale of acreage. In some circumstances the seller may "reserve" the mineral rights.  This is also possible with timber.

northeastern ohio property: Pay the Electric or Pay the Mortgage?- Jackie Stewart- Prudential Select Properties. - 02/25/10 05:30 AM
About a week ago I attended avery informative Town Hall meeting for the residents of Ashtabula County, Ohio.  The meeting was regarding the recent electric rate hikes.   After encouraging residents to build ALL ELECTRIC homes by offering a discount which was supposed to last for as long as they owned  the home, it seems that our wonderful electric provider has changed their minds.  Now everyone will pay the same rate regardless of your heating source.
Now I'm not one for giving any one something for nothing, however it was very disturbing to hear just how much Ashtabula residents, especially those in the rural areas have been affected by … (0 comments)

northeastern ohio property: Owning A Home Has Its Benefits- Jackie Stewart- Realtor in Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake County - 12/02/09 08:51 AM
Opportunity is knocking for those considering homeownership for the first time. Historically low interest rates, lower home prices in most markets and the first-time homebuyer tax credit - part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 - brought first-timers to the market in droves throughout the year.
In fact, these consumers represented about half of home sales logged during 2009, according to the National Association of REALTORS®, a significant increase from historic levels. And the favorable conditions that prompted many of these first-time buyers are likely to continue. President Obama in early November signed into law a five-month extension … (0 comments)

From the early days of history, people set aside aa day of thanksgiving.  Usually it was for a bountiful harvest. Some days of Thanksgiving were declared for special events such as the safe return of a ship.
