centerton ar real estate: Have you ever had the opportunity to meet a “bedlamite” person? - 11/12/11 10:32 PM

Have you ever had the opportunity to meet a “bedlamite” person?
Why did I say have you ever had the opportunity to meet one of these people?  If you have you know what to look for and avoid them if they are on the street.  Now don’t go getting up in arms against me I’m not saying all of these peoples are violent.  Do we need to keep them locked up well it depends on the individual doesn’t it.  The meaning of (-it’) an insane person; madman.  Some would say that being in this business we are bedlamite and sometimes … (10 comments)

centerton ar real estate: Did you ever “niggle” something? - 11/12/11 12:24 AM

Did you ever “niggle” something?
You bet ya I have.  In my former profession if I called a deputy into the office sometimes it was just to say hi I appreciate your dedication but usually not.  I would read their report and would call them into the office.  I would compliment them on their work ethic yadda, yadda, yadda.  I would then lower the boom and hand them the report and tell them simply fix it.  I could see the blank look on their face and after a few moments of letting them sweat I would tell them what was … (6 comments)

centerton ar real estate: Ever had someone suffer from “myopia?” - 11/10/11 11:16 PM

Ever had someone suffer from “myopia?”
Yep it happens to me on almost a daily basis.  You listen, you observe and you talk.  However sometimes you can get more from talking to a 2x4 piece of wood.  Now don’t get me wrong I’ve suffered from this phenomenon but thankfully not very often.  Now for the meaning of (mi o’ pe e) lack of understanding or foresight.  So have you talked to someone trying to explain the contract and got that blank stare and you know you just know they do not understand much if anything?  I can proudly say not … (5 comments)

centerton ar real estate: Yogi Berra VS Hank Aaron - 11/09/11 10:39 PM

Yogi Berra VS Hank Aaron
I have not verified this story to be true but never the less the meaning will be the same.
As the story goes Yogi Berra was giving some pointers to Hank Aaron as he (Aaron) was getting ready to go bat.  Yogi told Hank he as holding the bat wrong and to hold it where he (Aaron) could read the writing.   Hank didn’t say anything just went out to the batter’s box and swung on the first pitch and a called “Strike” went out.  On the second pitch Hank hit one out to the left … (12 comments)

centerton ar real estate: Do you have a “gentrify” in your area? - 11/08/11 11:14 PM

Do you have a “gentrify” in your area?
Truly I do not remember coming across this term in my training.  In fact I just looked at my booklet and it’s not in there.  This would have a beneficial effect to some and a displacement to others.  Hence the age old political correctness of which one do you do.  The meaning of (jen’tri fi’) is to convert (a deteriorated or aging area in a city) into a more affluent middle-class neighborhood resulting in increased property values and in displacement of the poor.  Now what say you?

centerton ar real estate: Have you ever met a “fish-wife?” - 11/07/11 10:33 PM

Sad to say I’ve met some in my past with my former profession.  With my new profession I’ve had the thought about a few but not experienced it yet.  You did catch yet didn’t you?  I know it’s coming but thankfully not yet.  Should I come into contact with one I think I’ll pass and give it to someone else?  I’m too old to deal with this.  Now for the meaning of (fish’ wif): a coarse, scolding woman.  So tell me have you met one of these?

centerton ar real estate: Have you ever “drubbed” another agent? - 11/06/11 10:27 PM

Have you ever “drubbed” another agent?
Just my luck opened up my Webster’s® and right off the bat first page I came up with another word go figure.  OK I’ve done this on more than one occasion and I also have had this done to me on more than one occasion.  Do I like it when it’s done to me yes, yes I do that means I’ve done something wrong or did not go prepared.  It’s back to the study board and look over what I did and what I needed to do so it would not happen again.  So … (12 comments)

centerton ar real estate: My first Quake!! - 11/06/11 12:33 AM

No it’s not a quake like you would think but an actual earthquake.  Happened last night around 10:00PM I was in the bedroom pulling down the sheets and heard something like someone knocking on the door.  Then the whole home began to shake and continued to do so for several seconds.  I’m sure glad I have quake insurance.  It did not seem anything was damaged but it was my first experience with one and all that would come out of my mouth was “NEAT” end quote.  I’ll do a close inspection of the home later today.  Have a good day

centerton ar real estate: Have you ever met a “prig?” - 11/05/11 01:22 AM

Have you ever met a “prig?”
No I did not say pig its prig.  I see them not on a daily basis but they are out there.  Sometimes if I’m watching TV I turn it off when this happens. There are certain people I avoid not that I’m afraid of them but because they possess this problem.  I know you will find this hard to believe but some say I have this problem.  So the meaning of (prig) a person who is excessively precise, proper, and smug in his moral behavior and attitude to the annoyance of others.   So now … (16 comments)

Ever seen or confronted a “panjandrum?”
Boy oh boy we’ve all seen heard or had dealings with them.  It may not be with someone local or associated with your beliefs.  So anyway I see it on a daily basis.  Although I believe it happens on the local State and National level but I guess it depends on what side of the isle you are associated with.  The meaning of (pan jan’ drem) is a self-important, pompous official.  They are not necessarily elected.  It could be your local cops, doctors, lawyers, judges and the list goes on and on.  So now … (5 comments)

centerton ar real estate: Don’t treat me like I’m dying. - 11/03/11 12:03 AM

Don’t treat me like I’m dying.
John was the go to man.  Whatever problem was in the community just call John it didn’t matter what it was John would figure it out and fix it.  Anyway one day the light at the top of the communication tower so they called John to go change it out.  As John was putting a new bulb in for whatever reason he fell off the tower.  Witnesses called for an ambulance and for whatever reason John was still alive.  When the ambulance arrived he told them “Don’t treat me like I’m dying.”  As they … (12 comments)

centerton ar real estate: Boy & Prayer - 11/01/11 10:16 PM

All the extended family met at Grandmas home for the annual feast.  As the food was set on the table a young boy spoke up and said that he would like to say the blessing.  He was given the OK and he started; “Father thank you for allowing us to come to Grandmas home for this food and company.  Thank you for the dressing, mashed potatoes, turkey, gravy, rolls, iced tea”, (well you get the idea).   The blessing went on and on.  Finally the boy got to the broccoli and stopped.  He looked up at his mother and asked “Do … (10 comments)

centerton ar real estate: Ever seen a person having a “hent” moment? - 11/01/11 12:01 AM

Ever seen a person having a “hent” moment?
As agents we have this happen to us on a regular basis.  I know I learn something new every day on the Rain.  It may be something minor or major.  But the most enjoyment I get is when my clients get this to happen to them.  So without further ado the meaning of (hent) something grasped in the mind; conception; purpose.  Don’t you just love it when your clients finally get the meaning of what you’re saying or the light bulb finally gets the current to flowing?

Ever seen an obvious “fop” walking down the sidewalk?
While looking for new words to write about I came across this one.  Have I seen this person why yes, yes I have and more than once?  So I guess you would like to know the meaning of (fap) a vain, affected man who pays too much attention to his clothes, appearance, etc.
Now if only agents both men and women would pay as much attention to their clients as they do their dress we would have no problems.  I do not mean every agent does this only a few.  … (10 comments)

Ever had any dealings with a “whoreson”?
Now, now let’s don’t go there you know me better than that.  Anyway I didn’t know this word existed at least not in the meaning I’ll give you in a moment.  I’ve had dealings with this type of personally (loosely).  I can say I haven’t been the victim lately but there is another day.  Now for the meaning of (-sen) a scoundrel; knave.  Enjoy your day

Ever had an “oneiromancy” moment?
Can’t say that I have but I really don’t know if I believe this.  I know my mother and hers did and could tell you without looking it up.  I usually don’t remember these but I know I do have them.  Anyway the meaning of (o ni’ro manse) the practice of foretelling the future by the interpretation of dreams.
Don’t you wish you could dream for a bright future or world peace and it would happen?  Keep on dreaming

Have you ever been fed a “cornichon?”
In this business we are fed this almost on a daily basis.  I had a taste just the other day and I still don’t care for it.  It has its place but not all the time.  We all experience this so now for the meaning of (kor ne shon’) a small sour pickle.  While we experience the sweet smell of success we sometime also experience the bitter taste of defeat.  We are however professionals and will endure and carry on.  What say you?

Has anyone spoke to you in a “contumely” manner?
OH Buddy!! I can relate to this one.  If only I had a dollar when people used this one on me.  Once someone talks to you in this manner and I’m sure they have you’ll know it.  This kind of behavior has been known to bring about a violent result.  So the meaning of (kan’tyoo mele) is haughty and contemptuous rudeness; insulting and humiliating treatment or language.  Bet ya you have experienced this especially in the business.  So tell me your story via AR.  I promise I won’t tell anyone… J.  … (10 comments)

centerton ar real estate: Quaker VS, Cow - 10/25/11 11:05 PM

Quaker vs. cow…
As the story goes a Quaker had a difficult cow.  As he was milking the cow one day the cow switched its tail landing upside the Quakers face.  The Quaker went on and after a few minutes the cow moved and stepped on his foot.  Without losing a stroke the Quaker went on milking.  As the milk filled the container and was almost full the cow moved again knocking over the pail spilling its contents.
The Quaker now stopped and faced the cow and said “You know I’m a Quaker and will not hit or harm … (8 comments)

Did you know you belong to the “gregarious” species?
As I was looking around today to find a new word I came across this one noted above.  Interesting word with a couple of different meanings but the one I chose due to our business is appropriate.  If you’re not of this species you will not survive.  Now for the meaning of (gre ger’ e es) : fond of the company of others; sociable.  So are you gregarious?  What say you?
