mortgage: Using a Reverse Mortgage to Stop a Foreclosure
- 11/04/08 05:47 AM
With the current economy and foreclosure woes our country is facing, it is good to be able to play a small part in helping people during these tough times. Last week I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Jones (named changed for privacy). Mr. Jones is an 89 year old widower, World War II Veteran, a proud citizen of our country and his community. Mr. Jones has developed a few medical conditions in his advanced age and the expenses of treating his medical conditions were growing daily while his income (social security and a little savings) was not growing to meet (2 comments)
mortgage: Your Real Estate Power Team
- 07/23/08 07:34 AM

Since I joined BNI two years ago I have seen both the original Realtor and mortgage broker leave our chapter (one transferred to a different BNI chapter that fit his schedule better, the other left the mortgage business to pursue other interests). It has taken some time to build my power team and to form new relationships with the new mortgage broker and Realtor in our chapter, but it (1 comments)
mortgage: As the market turns.... be the change
- 07/16/08 07:01 AM
For the past few months I have heard on almost a daily basis the following questions: "When is the real estate market going to bounce back?", "Has the market hit bottom yet?" and "When is a good time to buy before home prices go back up?". All of these are valid questions, even if there is no 'real' and 'true' answer to be given. To be honest, by the time people realize that the market is 'coming back', most of the best deals will be long gone while they waited for prices to hit rock bottom. mortgage: What do you like and dislike about working with title companies?
- 05/30/08 02:57 AM
In my nearly 10 years of experience in the real estate, mortgage and title business I have heard many raves as well as many complaints about working with title companies. We have modeled our business to avoid many of the common problems and issues realtors and mortgage brokers have with title companies such as a lack of communication, timeliness of service and clearance of title issues; but we are always constantly striving to improve and stay on top of the game. In an effort to get an idea of what other companies are doing right and wrong I pose the following questions: -What (0 comments)
