title insurance: Choosing the right title company could be the difference between losing a deal and closing

In my nearly 10 years of working in the real estate, mortgage, and title business I have heard and witnessed many a horror story about closings lost due to the ineptitude, careless mistakes, lack of communication, or just plain poor customer service on the part of title companies. Although title companies do have an actual product they sell, the title insurance policy, they are truly a service based business. Customer service needs to be a number one priority of title companies, not only to their direct client (i.e. the mortgage broker or Realtor who referred the deal) but especially to their customer (4 comments)

For the past few months I have heard on almost a daily basis the following questions: "When is the real estate market going to bounce back?", "Has the market hit bottom yet?" and "When is a good time to buy before home prices go back up?". All of these are valid questions, even if there is no 'real' and 'true' answer to be given. To be honest, by the time people realize that the market is 'coming back', most of the best deals will be long gone while they waited for prices to hit rock bottom. I am going to be on a morning radio talk show next Tuesday June 17th from 9:30 - 10am.
