I continue to be bothered by the constant negative news. I stopped watching all news broadcasts several months ago. Here's the hard truth. Bad stuff is considered news and people listen. It's an unfortunate fact of life. But in the Middle TN market, the news isn't that grim. Here is my perspective from the Middle Tennessee market area. First of all, please remember that when you are watching a national news broadcast, it is written to a national audience and therefore is not specific to a market area. Someone shared a quote with me that goes like this "we are willing to let go of anything, except our own misery". How true is this statement! Have you ever noticed that you will hold onto ill feelings for as long as you are capable? When I have a negative emotion cross me during the day, it completely throws me off. I have a hard time functioning the way I should until I let it go and/ or address and resolve it. The more I coach my children's youth teams, the more I discover that life is simply coaching different types of people in all kinds of situations. You don't have to have a whistle around your neck and clipboard in hand to assume the role of a coach. Another truth to understand about coaching is that coaching principles and concepts are no different when coaching a sales team than they are when coaching a ball team.
