The notion that age-friendly homes are unattractive is a misconception.
The term, “aging-in-place” may (unintentionally) carry a negative connotation, at least in the view of responders to a poll taken by researchers at The Sage Companion eZine, a not-for-profit publication where some readers expressed concern that accessible homes were “ugly” and not desirable. 
One even wrote to say it brought to mind “a really-really-really bad-smelling hunk of molding cheese set aside in the pantry and forgotten.” Oh Dear!  That is not a pleasant image!  I wouldn’t want that to … (9 comments)
