water efficiency: Retire In Your Home with Reduced Bills - 03/01/23 10:09 AM
For many, the subject of retirement brings many questions.  When will you retire? Where will you retire?  And how will you retire.  Life changes can seem daunting as many baby boomers aren't financially able to retire.

But what if you could plan for retirement with reduced bills?  What bills can be eliminated so that retirement is simpler?

What if you could retire in your home with no electricity bills?  What if you didn't have a mortgage payment?  And what if you didn't buy gasoline either?

This is exactly what I've worked to accomplish!

Having converted my own home to a "net zero" home, producing as … (10 comments)

water efficiency: Water in Arizona - a Hot Topic! - 07/18/22 07:29 PM
Water is a hot topic in Arizona.  News reported lately reflects lower than normal water levels in Lake Mead and Lake Powell, two storage areas of Colorado River water.  Arizona is one of handful of states that receives a water allocation from the Colorado River.  With the 23 year drought, Arizona's allocation was recently dropped.  The Arizona Drought Contingency plan was set in motion with landmark legislation that allows Arizona regions to share the reduction equally.  But now, more must be done to conserve water.

As you can imagine, living in the desert Southwest has it's share of differences from the rest … (40 comments)

water efficiency: Blog Post to the Rescue - Specializing in Energy Efficiency - 10/04/21 09:46 AM
We write blogs for a variety of reasons.  Sharing statistics, information on real estate transactions, products and services and our own views on the industry or personal topics.
It's always likely that someone has read a blog and posts an opinion within ActiveRain.  But what if a blog has never been read and a question surfaces about one of our blog topics?
That's just what happened this morning.  We never know how far the band-width of a blog will reach.  Sometimes that doesn't even matter!

Today, a local designer that knows my specialty in energy efficiency called about  a client need.  Her client, not … (25 comments)

water efficiency: Sustainable Niche in Real Estate - 08/09/21 08:36 PM
As a realtor specializing in sustainability, I’m often asked, “What's different about specializing in sustainability?”

I help buyers and sellers, and the general public with real estate like every other real estate agent.  But due to my intensive training, I may look at your home a lot differently and offer different opinions than just comparing the finishes and how a home looks from the curb.

So what’s different about being a NAR GREEN designee?

The field of study includes energy efficiency, indoor air quality (radon, lead, and mold to name a few), water efficiency, operational methods,  community information and sustainability and much more!

Water - Use it Wisely -

Water is not a finite resource.  Those living in drought states will tell you about their experiences.   There are so many ways that we may be wasting water that it bears repeating -Water - Use it Wisely!
Here are some basic ways we can save water:

In the Kitchen:        Carry refillable drinking containers & glasses versus buying                                   water bottles
