If you do a search for short sales you'll find every overnight guru and million dollar system that you could ever want.  Everything from sweaty guys who wear oversized suits to cowboys.   One thing you won't find is a resource site for REAL Estate Agents (and others).  Even here on Active rain it's just people blogging and copying and pasting the information on their blog.

short sales: Don't Be A Hero, Low Ball That BPO! - Response to Ken Harney - 03/29/09 10:05 PM
In a recent article in the Washington Post, Ken Harney suggests that real estate agents are low balling BPOs to get listings.  I won't even address this since the thought of a BPO agent getting a listing from a BPO is pretty silly.  There ARE agents who have gotten listings from their BPOs but it was based on how professional and accurate they were and not usually based on them doing something to make the asset manager look like a hero.

short sales: Mortgage Rates at 4% - Not the cure - 02/05/09 10:23 PM
Sure 4% interest rates will cause even more people to refinance and it might even get people off the fence... but who is still on the fence when they could have had rates as low as 4.5%.  Don't get me wrong a half point is significant, but I think we can all agree that the mortgage rates are low enough.  I'd prefer to see more options and releasing of some of the restrictions.  The pendulum has swung completely on the other side.  People are stuck paying $1,500 a month in rent with good jobs but can't get a loan for some … (3 comments)

Short Sales seem to be the buzz word right now.  Everyone and their brother has some experience with a short sale or do they?

After a year full of short sales and feeling totally fed up with them, I've come full circle.  I'm loving short sales for the satisfaction I get, similar to a first time home buyer.  I'm enjoying the negotiations and the process... at least on the listing side.  If you have short sales you want to refer, call me!

If you're thinking of buying a short sale right now you might want to learn to be patient.  Actually, you might want to wait.  Wait to lock in your rate, wait to cancel your lease, wait to make any plans to actually move into the home, wait to do anything that might jeopardize your purchase...

It's one thing to be solicited which I can understand, since I'm in sales. It's another thing to get a message like this:
According to industry experts, 50% of Realtors WON'T make it through 2008.  
They'll quit... go broke... or both.  
Most Realtors are downright scared about the future of their business... and they should be.  
The bottom line is, you need a "silver bullet" to survive in this market.
