This afternoon and evening, I spent some time helping my wife get her mom checked into a nursing home, for a temporary stay while she recuperates from two recent back surgeries. We are hoping to have her back at her home by Christmas, but time will tell on this. We also went and bought her a TV (who knew they would have cable at every bed?) and got it set up before we left. As a broker, this is the type of question that I am asked somewhat frequently. What will $______ buy in your market? Sometimes, this comes from relocating buyers, and sometimes it comes from potential investors from other areas of the country. It just happens sometimes. It's nothing you've done wrong. You get the sellers to agree to a reasonable price, then their neighbor says, "Wow! That sounds really low to me. Is your agent just trying to get the house sold quickly so they won't have to work at it?" The seller calls you with questions, and there is suspicion in her voice.
