Last week I wrote a blog about Rashad Hussain. You might recall he was appointed a little over a week ago, personally by President Obama, as the White House Islamic Envoy. http://activerain.com/blogsview/1498613/latest-obama-appointee-another-controversy The sequence of events: Fox News reported that Rashad had attended a conference and was quoted as making sympathetic remarks regarding Sami al-Arian. Al-Arian had pleaded guilty to sponsoring Islamic Jihad. A journalist wrote an article attributinging those quotes to Rashad. Fox News reported both the remarks and the fact that the original article had been "scrubbed" and his remarks removed. The White House Denied it. (22 comments)
I'm sure the name Sami al-Arian rings a bell with you. After the attacks of 9/11 Bill O'Reilly was one of the first to bring to light his involvement with and ties to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Sami al-Arian was a professor at a college in south Florida. He pleaded guilty to conspiring to aid the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ). The media uncovered this Professors suspicious activities, not our government. Our government did not carry out a witch hunt. This man confessed!
