james mchugh: The Gratitude Challenge - 06/18/12 08:56 PM

The Gratitude Challenge is an excellent way to remind oneself of the importance of thanking and appreciating others.

When I speak around the country I am amazed how few agents have an Apprecaition Marketing campaign in place.

They are begging their clients to go elsewhere; they are begging their clients to search Google next time they need something; they are begging their clients for social indifference.

The Gratittuce Challenge introduces you to create a habit of Appreciation.

WORDS TO LIVE BY...   If you complain you will remain, if you praise you will raise. Joel Osteen   Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference. Winston Churchill   Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures. H. Jackson Brown, Jr.   Whenever you fall, pick something up. Oswald Avery   A pessimist is one who makes difficulties of his opportunities and an optimist is one who makes opportunities of his difficulties. ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER...  Rule One - You will receive a body. Whether you love it or hate it, it's yours for life, so accept it. What counts is what's inside.  Rule Two - You will be presented with lessons. Life is a constant learning experience, which every day provides opportunities for you to learn more. These lessons specific to you, and learning them 'is the key to discovering and fulfilling the meaning and relevance of your own life'.  Rule Three - There are no mistakes, only lessons. Your development towards wisdom is a process of experimentation, trial and error, so it's inevitable things will not … (1 comments)

james mchugh: Get out of the Drama and Surround yourself with Winners.... - 11/28/11 11:34 PM

Someone once said, "There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. Surround yourself only with people who make you laugh and love you. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right and pray for the ones who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy!! Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living." Being alive is a gift, being happy is by choice!! … (3 comments)

ENCOURAGEMENT CORNER... As we travel down life's busy roadComplaining of our heavy load,We often think life's been unfairAnd gave us much more than our shareOf little daily irritationsAnd disappointing tribulations. We're discontented with our lotAnd all the "bad breaks" that we got;We count our losses ... not our gain,And remember only tears and pain. The good things we forget completelyWhen life looked down and blessed us sweetly. Our troubles fill our every thought,We dwell upon the goals we sought; And wrapped up in our own despair,We have no time to see or shareAnother's load that far outweighsOur little problems and dismays. … (0 comments)

james mchugh: Happy Holidays from Boston, Massachusetts - 11/26/11 01:09 AM

Good Morning:  Happy Holidays! There, I said it!  Yes, the holidays are here.  That means fun, excitement, and probably a bit of stress too.  I was reading a great article today on www.pcworld.com with all the great apps available to make your holidays stress free.  So, when feeling stressed check your App Store because it is very likely that somebody in the world felt your pain and built an app that would result in a more enjoyable holiday season.  I mean seriously, an app that will find your car in the crowded mall parking lot?  Who knew!  Wishing you a … (1 comments)

james mchugh: Communicate rather than Selling...... - 11/22/11 02:05 PM
Like with most of my posts, I’d like you to take a step back and think as a consumer for a bit....
…Imagine you’re browsing Facebook on your own personal time, you’re not looking for a property, but you see that your local real estate agent is constantly posting his/her listings.  In fact, their entire Facebook Fan Page (or even worse, their personal page) is comprised of only their listings!!!  How likely would it be for you to stay as a “fan” of that agent?  Would that help them establish a personal connection with you?
Well, the fact of the matter … (0 comments)

james mchugh: Happy Veteran's Day Holiday and Thank YOU to all Veterans around the Globe... - 11/11/11 12:44 AM

Good Morning: In the years since our nation was born, veterans have given selfless service to their country in times of war and peace. At every critical stage in America's history, these men and women stepped up when they were needed, and their efforts to preserve the freedom we now enjoy made an impact at home and abroad.
Celebrate this wonderful day by offering thanks to a veteran and by spending quality time with loved ones.  Find time each and every day to practice selfless acts of kindness toward others.  Our freedom was built upon the shoulders of heroes.  … (4 comments)

james mchugh: Start your day with Words To Live By - 10/25/11 12:47 AM
WORDS TO LIVE BY...   They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.   - Andy Warhol   Courage is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm.    - Winston Churchill   It is not length of life, but depth of life.    - Ralph Waldo Emerson Make failure your teacher, not your undertaker.   - Zig Ziglar
May you live all the days of your life.    - Jonathan Swift   The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.   - Steven Covey   Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.   - Henry David Thoreau … (7 comments)
