28462: Mortgage Rates Hit All Time Low! - 03/27/09 08:12 AM
The average rate on 30-year fixed-rate home mortgages hit a record low last week, after the Federal Reserve announced it would purchase Treasury securities over the next six months. The 30-year mortgage averaged 4.85% in the week ended March 26, the lowest point since Freddie Mac's weekly survey began in 1971. Last week, the mortgage averaged 4.98%; the mortgage averaged 5.85% a year ago.
The Federal Reserve's announcement that it intends to purchase Treasury securities over the next six months caused bond yields to drop and mortgage rates followed. Rates for 30-year fixed-rate mortgages peaked last year at 6.63% on July 24 according … (0 comments)

28462: H.U.D. - 03/10/09 04:27 AM

28462: Credit Facts - 03/10/09 04:26 AM
A credit bureau score is a number, based upon your credit history, that represents the possibility that you will be unable to repay a loan. Lenders use it to determine your ability to qualify for a mortgage loan. The better the score, the better your chances are of getting a loan. Ask your lender for details.
Simple mistakes are easily corrected by writing to the reporting company, pointing out the error, and providing proof of the mistake. You can also request to have your own comments added to explain problems. For example, if you made a payment late due to illness, … (0 comments)

28462: How to choose your living route - 03/03/09 05:27 AM
People compare renting to buying but the two don't really compare at all. The one advantage of renting is being generally free of most maintenance responsibilities. But by renting, you lose the chance to build equity, take advantage of tax benefits, and protect yourself against rent increases. Also, you may not be free to decorate without permission and may be at the mercy of the landlord for housing.
Owning a home has many benefits. When you make a mortgage payment, you are building equity. And that's an investment. Owning a home also qualifies you for tax breaks that assist you in … (0 comments)

Brunswick County History is full of secrets that are never told. We are such a interesting county & blend in with much of history. Most people don't know some of our better known secrets such as how Blackbeard took over Bald Head Island & used it as his grounds for business. Black Beard is very well known around the world & hardly knows he was a Brunswick County transplant like many others.
Brunswick, established in 1745, was made a borough town in 1754, and when Brunswick County was established in 1764 it was made the county seat. In 1779 the county … (0 comments)

28462: Oil Drops To Lowest Point In Recent History - 10/24/08 02:46 PM
Oil prices fell Friday to their lowest point since May 2007 as investors were unimpressed by a decision from the world's largest oil cartel to slash production targets.
U. S. crude for December delivery settled down $3.69 to $64.15 a barrel in New York. It was the lowest close for oil in more than 17 months. Prices hit an intraday low of $62.65 after news of the cut.
Opec decided to make a cut which may result in a punch on the economy. The decision was made in an emergency meeting held in Vienna, Austria, on Friday. The meeting was originally scheduled … (2 comments)

28462: SNL Skits Bring America Laughs - 10/24/08 02:40 PM
I was raised & think as a conservitive & mostly vote republican w/ some exceptions.
With that said I have never been a big fan of Saturday Night live but the skits they have created about Bush, McCain & especially Palin are just too much. I have laughed continuously over these skits just for the fact of how they relate the good w/ all the mistakes that have been made.
Regardless who has been affended w/ the economy so bad & peoples lives upside down a good inosent laugh right now is just what america needs.

28462: Holden Beach Provides A Great Family Enviroment - 10/24/08 02:07 PM
This 11-mile-long barrier island has been developed as a family beach," Leatherman says. "You can swim in the warm, safe waters, beach-comb for shells, fish from the surf or go boating on the ocean or the Intracoastal Waterway. At night, chase the ghost crabs with a flashlight - they dart quickly across the beach and have serious pinchers, which means you don't really want to catch them.
Holden Beach is a true island, surrounded by water on all sides. It is nestled between the Lockwood Folly Inlet on the east and Shallotte River on the west. The Intracoastal Waterway is on … (0 comments)

28462: GM/Chrysler Merge Talk; Results May Hurt Their Image? - 10/24/08 01:57 PM
General Motors has had talks with smaller rival Chrysler LLC about a merger that would combine the No. 1 and No. 3 American automakers at a time when both are struggling to cut costs and shore up cash, according to a source briefed on the matter.
The moves come as all three Detroit-based automakers are struggling with a plunge in U.S. sales to 15-year lows and facing tough questions from investors and creditors about whether they have the cash to ride out a deepening downturn.
Analysts said urgent steps by all three U.S. automakers to shore up cash could be expected … (0 comments)

28462: Sarah Palin's Investigation Results Hurtful - 10/24/08 01:41 PM
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is testifying behind closed doors about allegations she abused her powers during a personnel controversy that has distracted from her Republican vice-presidential bid. The commissioner claims he was dismissed because he refused to fire Palin's former brother-in-law, a state trooper involved in a messy divorce from Palin's sister. The scandal, known as "Troopergate," took on national significance after John McCain selected Palin as his running mate. An Alaska legislative investigation concluded Palin acted unethically by trying to get her brother-in-law fired but fired the public safety commissioner lawfully. Palin and her husband, Todd, say the trooper, Mike … (0 comments)

28462: Seeing Lower Gas Prices? - 10/24/08 01:21 PM
As the global economy falters, demand for oil has dropped. And since the price of oil makes up about half of the cost of a gallon of gas, analysts see more relief ahead at the pump.
I recently paid $2.47 per gallon in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina which I foud to be a relief compared to the early summer. I find it funny for $2.47 to be a relief; even though I'm young I can remember when gas was only $0.89 per gallon.
Gas prices rebounded last month when hurricanes Ike and Gustav passed through the Gulf Coast where the bulk … (0 comments)

28462: Rates On The Fall! - 10/24/08 01:14 PM
Mortgage rates have improved dramatically over the last several days and we believe this trend will continue.  The bond market has rallied 4 days in a row and we are in positive territory today.
Yesterday the largest holder of bonds, PIMCO, put out a buy call to buy Mortgage Backed Securities.  They have increased their position significantly.  This is very good news for rates. If the trend continues, we could be in the low to mid 5% range (on 30 year fixed) by the end of the week or early next week.
I have been explaining the importance of this advantage … (0 comments)

28462: Money In The Stock Market? - 10/24/08 01:09 PM
While the overall trend was certainly down, the market didn't move in a straight line. Amid reports of forced selling by hedge funds, the wild swings created nerve-wracking and gut-wrenching action - for pros and retail investors alike.
Although the market is now a constant up & down, this now creates great potential for those who continue a constant study of the economy & what effects America has on the world.
Although many industry observers are waiting for a bottoming out of the markets, there's no way to know what's next. Many traders believe the market will go back to its … (0 comments)
