frisco texas: Frisco Texas - A Dancing Home During The Holidays - 12/29/11 08:51 AM
I learned two things over the past 2 weeks. The first is to NOT say I'm going to blog when a major holiday is coming up. Clearly I could not stick to the daily blogging and I apologize for that. The good news is that I'll start blogging on a daily basis starting January 2nd.
The second thing I learned is to stop and enjoy the holidays. Sometimes things just get so buys, you don't take the time to just sit back and enjoy it.
We have a house up the street that is ALWAYS decorated and actually dances during the … (10 comments)

frisco texas: Where do I recycle my Christmas Tree in Frisco Texas? - 01/03/11 03:21 PM
Wondering where to recycle your Christmas Tree in Frisco Texas?
The City of Frisco has an easy process in place to dispose of your tree. But before you think about recycling the tree, make sure its environmentally ready - remove the stand, lights, ornaments, and any wiring.
The magic number is 5 feet. If your tree is over 5 feet tall, it will need to be cut into sections no larger than 5 feet. Once the tree is removed of all Christmas Decoration and cut into smaller sections, the tree can simply be placed 3 feet away from your trash can.

frisco texas: Texas Relocation - Part 5 (of 9) Choosing a Moving Company - 03/09/10 09:31 AM
Texas Relocation - Choosing a Moving Company
There are MANY moving companies out there. Choosing the right company is important because they are moving your things. If your company is relocating you to Texas, then they may have a moving company already. If not, then you should talk with your Real Estate Agent or Mortgage Professional for some suggestions. Remember that we have assisted many homebuyers with relocating to the area so we have heard about good and bad moving experiences.
Here are some areas to explore:
Performance Records - Ask each company for a written record of how well they … (2 comments)

frisco texas: Texas Relocation - Part 3 Temporary Housing - 02/09/10 12:21 AM

Texas Relocation - Part 3
If you have followed the other two parts, then you are mentally prepared to move and have found a home in your new area. In Part 3 of 9, we will discuss Temporary Housing. A temporary home is used when there is a gap between the date you move our of your old home/rental and when you move into your new home.
Having a gap in your move can be caused by a few things. For example, if you purchased a brand new home that is being built. The home may not be ready for … (9 comments)

frisco texas: Texas Relocation - Part 2 Finding a House in Your New Area - 01/26/10 01:17 PM
Texas Relocation - Part 2
In part 1, I discussed the importance of 'Getting Ready' for your Texas Relocation. No matter your reason for relocating to Texas (or any state for that matter), you want to be prepared and you want to narrow down your location specifically.
Part 2 Finding a House in Your New Area
Before you sell your existing home or give notice to your landlord (if you are renting), my first suggestion is to contact a Relocation Specialist in your new area. As I mentioned in my previous post, this specialist could be someone within your company (generally within your … (5 comments)

Should you have any specific questions that I have not covered, feel free to contact me directly through email or my office number listed below.
In Part 1 is "Getting Prepared"

frisco texas: Never a dull moment in North Texas - Bob Cat Sighting - 03/29/09 04:40 PM
Officials reported last week that they found a bob cat in Frisco Texas.  It appeared the bob cat was injured on what could have been a 'claw type' trap.
Sure it can be scary to know that a bob cat is in your backyard.  Remember that we are not completely in the city so there is a possibility for coyotes, bob cats (rare), and snakes.  You can avoid these 'visitors' by following a few simple rules:
Don't leave pet food out overnight.  Keep food outside for a little while, if that is where your pet eats.  Dedicate an eating schedule and … (15 comments)

frisco texas: BEWARE: There are dangerous twins on the loose - Fear and Greed - 02/09/09 12:17 PM
BEWARE: There could be dangerous twins in your area. They are called Fear and Greed!
Although these twins do not always hang out together, you will often hear about how they destroy one thing or another. It's not their fault. They were left on their own as children and had to learn about the tough world. Unfortunately, they keep listening to the wrong people. Their idols are different than yours and mine. Most recently, they have had a lot of focus on Real Estate. I know you are wondering how can you tell them apart and what should you do if … (84 comments)

frisco texas: My First iPhone Post - Now I can post anywhere / anytime - 02/02/09 09:55 AM
Recently I read Post from ActiveBrad. The post was about the updated feature which allows updates from your iPhone. For months I have reading posts on my phone and unable to comment. So imagine my joy when I read about this update. I know what your thinking, 'why not just wait?' I could wait but don't you have down time when you are not next to a computer? Times where you are getting you oil change or at you children's dentist appointment. (fellas - how about when your shopping with your wife?? Just kidding ladies.)  Anyway, I was excited and do … (19 comments)

frisco texas: I'm not much of a dancer, but this event is a MUST for all Dads. - 01/26/09 11:48 PM
About 4 1/2 years ago, we moved from Simi Valley, CA to Frisco, TX.  We have never regretted the move. Nothing against California (where I lived for many years) but Frisco is just very family oriented.  Our population is 102K but we still insist on the small town feeling.  A great example is the annual Daddy / Daughter Dance that happens every February.  Since the first year we moved here, my daughter (Sidney) and I have attended this dance and have such a great time.  I don't know about you, but I do not recall such events growing up.
Our first … (19 comments)

frisco texas: Save over $22,000 - Don't worry, I am not selling you anything. - 01/22/09 03:31 AM
That's right, you can save THOUSANDS of dollars.  I know, sounds impossible and you are waiting for the punchline or for me to tell you to invest in something that will have huge gains.  Nope!  That's not my job, but I am sure there are plenty of posts and/or infomercials that will take care of that for me.

This post was sparked from phone calls I received from new and previous customers.  Yes it is true that rates are still at an all time low.  But does that mean you need to refinance?  Well, that is not always the … (7 comments)

frisco texas: What happened during "Coffee with the Mayor" - Frisco Texas ? - 01/12/09 03:04 AM
This months "Coffee with the Mayor" of Frisco Texas was the best turnout yet.  Last month, Mayor Maso discussed a new theme for these meetings.  The theme would be to hold the meetings at a new location each month.  The location would be the topic of discussion (at least to begin with) and would them move to other local events and discussions.  The new theme started this month when we held the meeting at Frisco's Emergency Operations Center which is located in the Frisco Central Fire Station.  As a result, over 60 residents attending.  This marked the biggest showing yet.
