You’ve seen signs and posters hanging around town, you’ve browsed online advertising, schedules and lineups, you pass people in the street with their ‘fringe on’, and, are wondering, just what is the Kansas City Fringe Festival all about? Continuing now through July 28th, 2013, in a nutshell, this ninth rendition of the Kansas City Fringe Festival is a celebration of local, regional, and national talent in a number of venues throughout Kansas City. Numerous live performances include theater, dance, performance art, visual art, spoken word, puppetry, storytelling, film and fashion.

In this 2nd in a series of three postings regarding recent exciting announcements at premier Kansas City arts organizations, the Kansas City Symphony musicians and board came together this past week and--in contrast to recent and ongoing symphony contract negotiations in many parts of the country--announced an agreement on a three-year contract. What makes this announcement even more impressive is that the agreement was accomplished approximately one year AHEAD of the current musicians contract expiration. READ MORE HERE

While this blog is not specifically an ‘arts blog’(or real estate news and tips blog, or advertising blog, or any other single-topic-type of blog--it is probably best defined as a ‘community news and real estate tips blog’), we love all of the great things going on artistically in the Kansas City area and how the Kansas City community is so supportive of same. It is such a wonderful part of living in KC that we can’t help but share(brag) about!
